The only what i can confirm is, Boracy is only a uge amusement park and no more an authentic philippines island. I was there1978 for 6 weeks and found an untouched paradise. Only 3 resorts was spread around this island. Next time i came back 1981 fir 8 weeks and i find a typical holiday island. There was around 50 or 60 resorts and it was still nice, when someone like it more busy and actions So my last time i had visited 2019 and the shock was perfect. You cant go to the beach without contact by an annoying recruiter or vendor. This place is perfect for scammer, thiefs and bad deals. After 4 days i had enough of negative experiences and im so thankful, that i live since many of years in bantayan island . Its similar like Boracay 30 years ago and my new paradise in the philippines.

Yes, you're one of the lucky ones who got to experience Boracay back then. It is still beautiful today. However, it has picked up the nickname "cesspool" because of its overcrowdedness and rapid development.
