I went to Boracay for the first time a month ago. When i left, i'm not the same person anymore. I had the best time of my life in that island and I can't wait to go back again hopefully next year. Its one hell of a paraside. I didn't expect too much before going perhaps of because of the island's new image and some negative news here and there but it really exceeded my expectations!

I am a native of Aklan province. As a child, Boracay was just a word, no idea what it really was. In high school, all I knew was: the Tirol family owned it as a coconut plantation. I have school mates who were from Caticlan and Boracay island and they told me it was beautiful there, I was shown some colored snapshots taken by someone from the Tirol family and I begin to realize what the word beautiful means when describing a small island. I finally set foot on the island in 1985 when tourists from Europe started pouring in but not enough to make a crowd. You will meet only local fishermen early in the morning and and practically no locals on the beach from 10 AM to 3PM. They were hiding from the sun. I had great fun befriending tourists from around the world. Whenever I was in the island, our daily ritual was sitting by beach during sunsets drinks in our hands and watched in silence as the sun goes down. I really miss the Boracay it was. It's now too crowded for my taste. I only get consolation from the economic benefit mass tourism Boracay brought to the province and to the whole Panay island.

+Willie Macawili I agree with you Willie, the island has become beyond crowded and it doesn't look like the building will slow down soon. I'll still always plan to visit from time to time and enjoy that beautiful sunset on the beach!

I have the same feeling like you bro. I also grew up a few mountains from Boracay, 1980's no electricity yet and only us Pinoy visit with a few Nipa hut. I took Roro last Xmas & passby there. I asked my kids if they want to stopby Boracay they all say no. I don't blame them so crowded. I went to Guimaras island resorts they also have island hopping and beautiful caves and snorkeling. One island owned by German but got separated from Filipino wife. Now nobody visit and not taken cared of. So many changes in the Phil since I left 26yrs ago but will never ever forget my quiet hometown on top of the mountain. Thanks for the video Sir it heals our homesickness and bring us Pinoys home.

Wow! You really capture the beauty of sunrise and sunset. Why I did not even thought about it before? I grew up in Panay, island of Kalibo but never seen the beauty of it until this internet vlog was born.

jeff belli slack Unlike what the news has been showing, the Pacific Northwest of the states has actually been much warmer than usual around mid 50's to low 60's for the past two months. It's been a very pleasant winter here this year. The rest of the country looks like hell has frozen over!
