You said it very well. It upsets me so much when people try to take away BTS’ worth and credibility because they’re “mainstream” now. They don’t care about how hard they worked, how they are ridiculed, or how they made a name for kpop and in SOME ways Korea.

That makes no sense (for people to say that to you I mean.) Of course artists are big because of their fanbase. But they win their fanbase based on what?? Are we all supposed to be brainwashed by cute Bangtan Bombs or something? Lol. The reason ARMY is so large and exists across so many countries, cultures, and age demographics is because they deserve the attention. Their talent, depth, and musical genius are what makes ARMY. There would be no ARMY without BTS, no fanbase like this one by any name. There has not been one before for a reason. ARMY is unique because Bangtan is unique.

I had a similar experience. When I couldn't stop listening to BTS, I was so in denial because I never been into "boy bands" so I just started listening to all the most popular kpop songs I could find but MAN! There is no one like BTS!! They touch my soul and fill my life. They even reached my mother heart and that woman only listened to the same cristian album for more than 10 years!!! Now she blast their songs full volume while cleaning and cooking. I'm closer to my mother thanks to BTS because we both adore them and are proud ARMY.

As a 63 year old Korean American I knew about Kpop before I found BTS. I’ve watched shows like music bank and none of the groups that were featured impressed me at all. As a matter of fact I thought they were pretty bad in my opinion that I forced myself to watch all the way through to be fair. I really tried but couldn’t compare to the music I loved the most which was music from the past in the western music. Anything from 1990’s and down. I lost interest in music altogether by the year 2000. I found BTS in 2021 and they renewed my love for music but only for their music. No one can compare whether they are K-pop or western.

I had lost interest in music too for a long time until I found BTS. I live in the US and the western music industry is....well not so good but there are a few, not mainstream hidden gems here and there. I grew up on classic rock (before I knew just how sexist a lot of classic rock is) and traditional celtic music as my family is from that part of the world, listening to music in other languages did not phase me in the least. BTS is my refuge when it comes to music because where I live I can't turn around without Taylor Swift or Olivia Rodrigo being shoved in my face with their latest romances on every magazine cover, or news report--sorry didn't mean to vent there!😂💜

You are so correct. I’m just north of you in 🇨🇦. My granddaughter introduced me to BTS in 2020, at a time when I needed their joviality, positivity and talent. What a journey I have had. I have laughed, cried, been so proud when they reached some of their goals (a lot of them done before I even knew they existed) but how a record of so much has been kept, you can follow the journey even though we are late to the game. I could talk and talk and talk about them. They are amazing, funny, kind, talented and thoughtful young men. How could you not be Army?

I think BTS is the best bc they really care about their music career above everything else. They have music journey well defined. Arrived at this point in their career I don't think they aim to create hits but in creating music that means something to them even if it's not a popular beat at the moment. I don't know how to explain myself well but I've always perceived them more attached to their music than to success at all costs.

Yes! Obviously it's lovely to get recognition from one's peers in the industry and reach particular milestones, but those are more a consequence of the quality of the music they're making. The guys have told us themselves, so many times, that what's important to them is that they make music that reaches people's hearts and minds, and have meaning for the people who like their music. And a natural result of making such good music is that fans want to tell others about their music, and grow recognition of it. I'm just glad that the guys are at the point in their careers that they don't have to specifically chase trends or do well enough in particular competitions to be able to keep their company doors open and have enough capital to keep making music - they're at the stage that they can do what they want, in exploring their artistic careers 💜

Yes, you can see this clearly in RM's Indigo. Did it become a huge record-breaking hit outside of ARMY, not really but RM wasn't aiming for that, he was expressing essentially his thoughts to close out the chapter of his 20's by exploring different genres that resonated with him. If these songs impact people outside of ARMY great, but he was not looking to make the next biggest, most profitable tiktok bop, (leave that to TS and OR no shade just irkes me), or hoping that all his songs would be #1 on Billboard hot 100. He wants to be the Wildflower in a field of other wildflowers. Also, each member brings something different to the table, be it skill, personality, style that make BTS a cohesive whole.

I agree with you. The music they make is not for popularity, it means something to them. Take V's LayoVer for example, completely opposite of the pop genre. He most definitely wasn't going for popularity. And like someone mentioned above, RM's album too. So precious.

I was introduced to k-pop in 2012. I watched a lot of M/V's from SO many different groups -male and female. And although I thought they were talented, there were only a handful of songs from a few groups that I listened to more than once. A lot of that was a lack of translations. But the main reason was that I confused most of the groups because their sound or concept were so similar to each other. That’s still the case. BTS found me in 2016. I STILL watch a lot of the new music releases. (Korean or otherwise) It’s rare that I find a singer or group that really interests me. I don’t much care about which country that music is from… just that it’s good (by my own definition). BTS stands out on every level. I didn’t fall for them because I liked one song. I fell HARD because I love every song in their discography. Because they blow my mind every live performance…. and on top of everything, they are all wonderful human beings. BTS is exceptional in every way~

Good analysis. The challenge I have found with getting into k-pop a year ago is I can find a few songs I like from many groups but can't get really into the group because I don't enjoy the bulk of their discography or all of it starts to sound the same. It is like finding something you love at a thrift store. It is possible but you have to pick through a lot of junk. BTS is completely different. I enjoy 95% of their discography and the expansive variety of songs, styles, and genres make it so I could technically only listen to BTS and never get bored. That is rare. Most artists stick to a lane and don't dare to invest in their own potential. That is the difference between good and great.

Exactly how it was for me too, i only liked a handful of songs thru hundreds i skimmed. same with variety shows. I gave a lot of them tries but I just dont see the spark and bond for me to keep watching ykwim? id like one off, but i dont enjoy a bulk of them whereas its opposite of that with BTS for me too. something boracity said and i agree, a lot of them are also not invested or interested in their own art and that lessens my interest. like im the same with western artists too, singer-songwriters are my go-to for a reason🤷🏻‍♀️

Well said. I love the thrift store analogy. I genuinely wanted to like/ get invested in other groups but after a while I gave up on pretty much everything non BTS. There are some other Korean artists I listen to, but no other ‘idol’ groups, although sometimes an individual song will catch my attention for a while if it sounds good.

Whenever I meet a Kpop stan in real life, they always 'urge' me to 'look up other groups' other than BTS. I don't know how many times I've had to tell them that I HAVE in fact looked up other groups and given their music a chance, but none of them were good enough for me to invest in them financially and emotionally like I do with BTS.

Suga has spoken. I remember a clip of Bangtan doing the team huddle before going on stage and RM reminding them, "remember we're nothing yet" I was shocked because I thought it was harsh but it was actually perfect for them. It encapsulates their humility but as well their hunger and belief they can be the best, they were nothing "yet". And now they are truly the best. Also, BTS is the best for ARMY because as Suga and JK discussed on Suchwita, ARMY wants BTS to be true to themselves as artists. General Kpop fans can argue forever about who's the best for visuals, rap, vocals, concepts, stage presence, but BTS is the best at being authentic artists, real ARMYs will stay as long as that's true. I've heard people stop being ARMY's because BTS sold out with all the English releases, they don't need to release English songs to be successful, they were big internationally before they were big in Korea. That's how hard it was for Bangtan.

Im a 77 year old grandma who didn't know anything about k-pop, I hated modern American music, and never liked boy bands. Basically only listened to American oldies (1950s to 1960s), some Christian music and some older country. Back when people sang songs that had meaning. Then in 2000, I was going through a rough time and was sad and depressed. Thanks to KZbin, somehow I stumbled up on BTS. They had songs that touched me emotionally, songs that made me cry the tears I needed to cry, and songs that were happy and made me dance again. They were so open and honest. I couldn't believe a group could open up so much about their own struggles and bared their souls and were not ashamed to cry and admit they are human. They helped me get my life back. They each have their own unique personality, which really came through on their solo work. Other k-pop groups have a few songs I like but they don't have the wide range of music genres that BTS has. And they just don't have that special, unique quality that BTS does, that makes me feel like I know them. Their openness and honesty helped me face my own feelings and accept that it was ok to be my own true self and not worry about what others thought I should be. Really, there is no way to describe their uniqueness to anyone who hasn't experienced it.

I feel the same, honestly. I've been listening to kpop since 2009-2010 (and prior to that, mainstream USA pop) and I was basically tuning in for every group that showed up in my recommendations. Until BTS I used to pay attention solely to choreography, different style/concepts, cool outfits/makeup, and flashy MVs, the more superficial aspects. I still listen to kpop but not as much as before. One day, in 2014, Boy in Luv popped-up for me (I used to check 1theK channel every week lol). And I must say, back in 2014, BTS stood out. Like, A LOT. I could see their passion and it was not the eyeliner's fault!! Well, the rest is history and for the first time I became part of a fandom. BTS is the best because they truly love what they do. This is what allows them to grow during difficult times and endure the sacrifices that comes with it. Also they always see space for improvement no matter how good they already are at something. So hard working 💜

Whenever I hear comments about 'finding the next BTS' or 'being the next BTS' I always come back to the impossibility of that, because 'they' will never be Kim Namjoon, Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, Jung Hoseok, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung or Jeon Jungkook. One of the things that always stands out to me is that they are never satisfied, if it’s not perfect it’s not acceptable. They never stop trying to do better. But they are also vulnerable and open about failures, and struggles. They are so inspiring. The versatility stands out as well. When I first started listening because my daughter was a fan she showed me other groups as well. I never got past a few songs because a lot of the time they only had one sound, one genre and I’d get bored. My daughter did as well. We have both been army for years. But not K-pop fans. I feel like so many armys have the same story of discovering BTS, thinking that the rest of kpop must be equally amazing, checking it out and realizing BTS is the exception and not the norm. I know that’s exactly what happened to me. I wasn’t on stan social media or involved with any kpop discourse, it was just me and KZbin and my completely uninfluenced reactions to other groups and songs. And…they just flat out weren’t as good! (And a not insubstantial amount was straight-up garbage but we don’t need to get too detailed there). Not to mention I’m in my 40s and have been a music fan and an amateur musician my whole life and have listened to a vast variety of artists and genres. I feel like I know a little something about music! So when I say that discovering BTS’s discography as a music fan was like discovering a gourmet feast or a vault of literal treasure, that is the background I’m coming from. I think it really says something that BTS is rare among kpop groups in terms of being just as dominant in audio streaming as they are on KZbin…ARMYS GENUINELY LIKE LISTENING TO THEIR MUSIC. And no kpop fan who wants to argue that BTS is overrated has ever explained to my satisfaction why the “overrated” group has somehow managed to become the biggest group in the world, with a bigger fandom than basically the entire rest of kpop combined, with new fans still joining us every day, most of whom are, like me, plain old GP music fans from outside the kpop bubble. Like…do they want to claim we’re all brainwashed or on drugs? Do they genuinely think this is some kind of mass delusion or ingenious marketing strategy? Or can we just accept the simple explanation: that a lot of people discover BTS and go “holy shit…they’re amazing” and then look at other artists and go “hmmmm…not quite as amazing.” This is not rocket science!

So finding BTS by accident was like finding a gold mine in an unexpected place. I then went looking at kpop as a whole and was very disappointed ok old songs stuck out odd dance performance stuck out but that was it. Odd vocals sounds good, odd melodies and beats were ok some were nice but the overall it was mahhhhhh nothing much to see here really. Maybe if BTS hadn't existed and I found one of those that was ok or quite good I might have stayed around a bit longer in the kpop world but deep down I know I would have been bored very quickly and simply closed the door and walked away. Even know I dip my toes back into the waters of Kpop but when you've had the best you only want the best.

Being an Army myself, I would say, that I have explored every group amd their songs, AND they were really good, but non of the group had the same impression on me as BTS did (ofc they are different and BTS are BTS), non of the group made me so related and comforted me with their songs, the normal motivating LIVE talks that BTS and Army's have are so homely. And this makes me love them more and more. *They have a good luck now, but they really worked very very hard for such a good luck.* People don't even know anything about them, they don't try to look for them, their hardwork, their sacrifices etc. but still say shit about them. Nonsense hate for no reason is not what they deserve. Even if people don't like them because their music taste ain't BTS's, doesn't mean they would hate them. They can atleast respect them. BTS are one of those few groups who do hardcore dancing along with stable singing. BTS has always been amazing and never forgot their root. Their songs, message, concept everything is so amazing, so thoughtful. BTS makes songs only for their fans as well, which are not for some random listener (because they won't relate), they love their fan and always credit Army's. And this 2 way love relation between Army's and BTS makes me adore them, this is the best Idol-fan love and support I have seen, along with making songs and idolship, BTS helps people by donating as well, that's worth RESPECT and APPRECIATION. Thanks to BTS for everything they do, for every hardwork they did. Huge Respect for them. *BTS PAVED THE WAY* *BTS ARE THE BEST*

I am also having a similar experience, two years ago you could ask me about all the popular kpop groups and their latest comebacks and I could go on in depth conversations with you. But since then I just can’t with these groups anymore. It’s a mix of saturation of mediocre music(imo) that keep coming out every 3 months or so, no real meaning/message or interesting well-rounded projects. So I’ve distanced myself from the "Kpop world" and only check out some artists occasionnaly. So yeah, I’ve been revesiting BTS’ old discographies and I really can’t wait for them to comeback because it’s been boring in these streets since they enlisted 😂 💜

I agree 100% what you say..👏I'm 52 old now and I've a kpop, kfood, drama lover since..shinwa tvxq to shinee, 2pm, girl generation, 2ne1 they're all my favourite back then.. But it's become less and less interested after shinee Jonghyun death.. All the groups becoming the same to me.. Same concept same style of performance and the song just a simple tune and no meaning for me..until I found THE BTS they captured my heart like I never known kpop before and me being into rabbit hole since then.. Love all of them individually from their intelligencness to their goofiness and their talents, their skill and each of their voice are soo good and unique.. I just wondered why I never see them before...i feel regret not knowing them from beginning.

BTS found me in September 2018... As a baby ARMY I fell for the multis argument that we should support x and y groups...so I went there to check them. And as soon as I clicked on CC and the message "Korean autogenerated" showed up... I closed the mv. October 2018! That's when I decided if music companies didn't care to give me CC of their artists, I wouldn't care for those artists as they didn't have a message to deliver. All smokes and mirrors. I'll stay with BTS that have the sound, the mv, the choreographies and the message.

Since the hiatus started I have listened to a lot of different K-pop artists and found some new favourites but it's always "this" member or "this" song, or "that" choreo. No other group approaches BTS for the incredible range and solid quality of material and performances across their entire body of work. No one else compares with the BTS vocal line and rap line and their artistic creativity. They are endlessly inspiring and I agree with your comments 100%.

I've experienced the "mainstream doesn't mean best, but you ARE the best and that's why you're mainstream" situation two times in my life: with Michael Jackson and BTS (crazy to have them in the same sentence, but bare with me), before both of them, I wasn't into pop (now i listen more, but it's more like specific subgenres/artists), but their stories, their craft, their uniqueness drew me in, with MJ was in 2009 (yes, when i was 9) )when i almost exclusively listened rock and indie and BTS in 2020 while listening the same stuff + hip hop and post punk, both times I paid attention to both artists because i saw the raw talent, the drive to create and the love they have for what they do, they're the best because of that and because as you say, they GROW, they aren't stuck in a specific era or a certain sound, they keep thriving and thinking ahead of the curve, they're the best because they put their hearts in it, they're the best because they're multitalented (even if sometimes they can't fully showcase it), they're the best because they couldn't settle, they wanted more (my work makes me breathe so i want MORE). They're the best because their main goal was to make music for everybody, to connect, to give something to the world and people will ALWAYS see that on them, that's why I thank both for breaking the barrier I have with pop music. They're both favorites and best and nothing will EVER take that away from them, in fact, every day that passes, people give them more credits for what they have done for the world and music.

Just some thoughts this video has inspired: I think any artist needs to be the best at being themselves. Play to your strengths. BTS’ strength as a group, you could argue, is practicing and being prepared for anything. Yoongi put it so well, I don’t think I need to repeat it. It’s a skill that can be cultivated, yes. But every individual within a group is different too. So you can’t force a Jimin to be Jungkook, they have their own strengths and if you notice those are the things they work on and showcase. Yoongi didn’t do hard hitting choreography during his tour. Jungkook chose to do some during his showcase. It’s about what you can do as well skills you can develop. You can’t force a fish to climb a tree, but you can guide it to swim better in the water.

For me, the music was the main attraction, I didn’t care who sang it, if I liked the song, I liked the song. That would obviously include the performance by the band/singer. I never got involved with them. I didn’t care about their lives or worry about their health or safety. I didn’t spend hours out of my day watching their performances, or their games shows or cooking shows or purchase their goods and albums. BTS are on a whole different level, their dedication and passion shows in everything they do. They are not cardboard copies of anyone, they are unique and individual, multi talented artists, who love what they do, but mostly they are wonderful people who draw you in and grab onto your hearts. This is why they will never be beaten you cannot force these attributes onto others, they are who they are, and will come across as fake, stilted and bored, because they are being manipulated, like puppets.

I loved Kpop way before BTS was on the scene and my first ever fandom was Shawol, that of Shinee. But, once BTS came on the scene I realized pretty quickly that they were not just singing empty songs about pretty girls and sexy boys. Their message spoke to me. They spoke of working hard in the already broken down system when the odds are stacked against you, but they still persevered and in term it helped me to go through a very hard period of my life. I had never been a hardcore stan of any particular group before. I listened to bands like My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Arctic Monkeys, etc., and pop was never my thing, let alone being a fan of pop artists like Taylor Swift or One Direction but BTS just got my attention. The talent of the performances that come from the K-pop industry plus their ability to do deep meaningful music is what makes them so complete. To be honest, it has been hard for me to understand and cope with fandom culture, especially all the fights, the solo stans, the goals of streaming, and such (since the solo work era started), so I had to take a break and kind of step away from them. I still think BTS is the best group out there, not only in the K-pop industry but also in the western industry.

you articulated all of it so well. "the best at being bts are bts". When I first got into BTS, I tried to educate myself on other kpop groups and I also inevitably felt bored. While they were talented, there was no fire and there wasn't anything profound about the music, composition, lyricism or performance. they all seemed like cardboard versions of each other, unfortunately. BTS has the passion, the grit, the skill, the story, the artistic prowess, the drive, and the talent. And what's amazing is that they have maintained all of that and worked even harder as they became more successful. Their music is incredibly diverse with so many different genres and styles. I love 99% of their discography. They really have ruined all other music for me haha. I expect so much from all artists now, western or eastern, and rarely ever find it anywhere else, except with BTS. 💜

The rapline has no reason to make their rap songs more 'humble'. Their lyrics are perfectly appropriate and suited to the situations BTS have found themselves in over their careers (the B-Free diss, K-Hiphop hatred, xenophobia in the West, etc.). However, it is clear that some members have developed a misplaced superiority complex since the success of Dynamite. BTS still has a long way to go to deserve those bragging rights. One small example is the inability of several members to sing in tune (as obvious from fancams); they should take singing lessons. This is simply constructive criticism! BTS are my favourite artists and I agree, they are the best in the world.

I disagree. I believe that all of the members have the right to feel good about their accomplishments. They did something unheard of with Dynamite, and then Butter, and basically everything they have made afterwards. They got to where they are because they are good and they worked hard, and they certainly deserve those bragging rights. While I agree that some of the vocalists could use some more lessons, I don't think that they have an "inability to sing in tune". The vocal line has sung in tune hundreds of times. While they could certainly use some guidance on how to properly use their voices, don't make it seem as if every note that comes out of their mouths is out of tune. And furthermore, why should that stop them from talking about their achievements? Do they have to reach a certain singing level before they can talk about their Billboard Hot 100 #1s? It doesn't make any sense.

In my opinion, there are many other talented groups, but bts are different because they are the only complete group. For example, also seventeen, exo, btob and red velvet have very strong vocal lines, but they are missing in the rap line. Big Bang also had a lot of stage presence, but lacked depth in the songs. Rm, Suga and J-hope aren't the only kpop artists who know how to rap, Tablo, Tiger Jk, Yoonmirae, Zico, Cl and Soyeon also know how to do it, but bts are the only ones who don't excel in this one category, but in everything. And even though we've seen dozens and dozens of songs from other groups, why hasn't it become enough? that's what I thought... it doesn't matter if I even like some K-Pop songs, and I even like some, but these songs will always be inferior to the art that is BTS with all the members or individually... like, no matter how many times I listen to a song by another group that I just thought was "cool", it still isn't enough to impress me like BTS does... that must be the difference between manufactured and manufacturers (those who produce the products, but in the case of BTS, they produce their own art and creativity)

They give their hearts into their performances and always make it clear that it is all for ARMY. That's why ARMY love them unreservedly. Individually and as a group, BTS are so focused on doing their best work for ARMY that comparisons with other groups are irrelevant to them. Besides, from their debut onwards, BTS have repeatedly broken the upper limits of performance and creativity and other groups have had to try and keep up. In a sense, they have improved everybody's level and for that the industry should be thankful instead of jealous.

From a technical standpoint, the calibre of their performances is definitely in the top tier of artists we have seen ever. The layers of complexity within their art and music, multiple facets of their personal talents and the shining sincerity that BTS has shown from the very very beginning is what all comes together to make them the best. People say 'they have it all' and its that combination of so many factors that makes them rise above everyone else.

An old One Direction performance popped up on instagram the other day and I realized that they really got away with being mid performers at best. I always wondered why I was never that into boy bands before finding BTS at 30 years old 😂

I used to listen in 2010 to 2NE1 and Big Bang bc a firiend recommended me their music so I checked their songs but that was it. I kept listening to some of their songs and I knew they were kpop but I honestly never got interest enough to search more kpop groups. That was until I discovered BTS in 2016 (their Fire MV was just released and I just saw it in my YT recommendations) and ngl I fell in love with them instantly and I remember watching all their MVs and downloading so many songs because all of them were so good + I started watching their shows, rookie king and more IN JUST 1 WEEK lol. Like I was already deep deep in the rabbit hole haha Anyways, after like a month I started diving into kpop and I really liked many songs bc everything was so new I saw A LOT of content and started considering myself a fan of many groups and solos but then through the years exactly the same thing that Boracity Magazine talked about happened to me... I lost interested in so many of them and i got bored. That's when I realized "ok maybe I was never a fan of them and and just like some songs". By the pass of the time I noticed even more how it seems like in kpop everyone treats everything like a group project when it's shouldn't when the artists are supposed to be different.. right? I always found Bangtan really special and unique and through the years I just noticed this pattern in kpop were MANY groups releases the same concepts, similar songs and stuff.. Like 98% of the times it's about what is trending or f a song does well you will find in the next couple of months hundreds of similar songs from others lol and even if now I see some changes in the artistic freedom that companies now are giving to their idols, I still feel the same thing right now. I always felt that even if some songs were not bad it all, it lacked something... many barely have a strong artistic identity or at least that's what I feel and the lyrics many times are really generic. (That's why when NewJeans debuted many found them refreshing since all the songs sounded like noises at that time.. I remember very well and i'm noticing that now many songs are trying to imitate New jeans style lmao. Like see? it's happening again lol). And hey I'm that kind of person that still enjoys some songs bc of the beat even if the lyrics sucks but ngl, after becoming an army the lyrics now are so important to me since BTS literally saved my life and has helped and inspired millions of people with their messages and more. I guess all the things that I've experience are common in armys.. no wonder why there's many only armys as well. That's what happens when you became a fan and respect an artist like BTS that give that much importance to the creation of their own craft and the fact they are so passionate for music and spreading their own messages to the world. They are really so talented, humble and always give us incredible high quality performances and songs.. and the most important thing, they are BTS. They just hit different. Like come on! how can your standards not rise higher?? It's funny bc I've seen so many people saying things like "BTS ruined my concerts experience" bc after that they say that even if they go to other good concerts they can't help thinking that it's not like theirs. BTS is truly the best. 💜 Oh and yes, it's so ridiculous to me when people start hating when singers get mainstream bc if you were truly a fan that doesn't mean sht Sorry for the long as5 comment but I just wanted to share my story and why I agree so much with this video

wow, i got into BTS the same time & era as you. 2019, persona era, boy with luv title track. i heard them in 2017 but didn’t bother to find out more and i wish i got into BTS earlier. feel the same about how i never ended up connecting with k-pop before or after either, even after trying. and BTS is the best artist, across any genre.

@Boracity Magazine, this needed to be done this need to be said whether it’s your opinion or Multi millions of us BTS ARMYS agree! What only makes us ARMY is because we were named that by BTS and that relationship as a fan and an artist no one else has that bond and reassurance , I have never seen a fandom so put together so into helping others and using the music that BTS have given to the world have made us accomplish anything we put our minds in our heart and our very souls into! I have been into K-pop since 2006 and believe me all the different fandom’s from the other K-pop groups that I listen to cannot hold a candle to BTS! I’m sorry for all the other fandoms out there who think that they’re the only ones that can make a difference in the world, BTS already done it they have done more than any music group has ever done! A social consciousness as well as inspirationally through their lyrics. The three albums of “Love Yourself: HER, TEAR, ANSWER not only show us how we should love ourselves first but how the love that we do have can be given unselfishly and given through the most difficult times in our lives! As an adult even some of us can’t even fathom the concept of first loving yourself in order to love others the right way and the way that it should be! If you’ve have gone to their concert or if you watch their online concert or just watch them on KZbin, If you don’t get something from that performance from their speeches from the lyrics , How It can help you to understand to open up your own heart your own mind then you can receive that type of information and do something with it even as an adult we still don’t know how to love ourselves! When we loved and express love as children, to love unconditionally we share that love and have no hangups about love it’s pure it’s innocent and we can give it freely to our parents and to our siblings and to our families and even to our friends! As an adult why do we become so closed minded and how do we reopen that type of love I think BTS Has already done it through their music through their words through their emotions they’ve already have shown us! Even RM the leader of BTS gave a speech that how can you love yourself nobody can tell you how to love yourself you have to learn that and RM notice that love comes from us ARMYS and his own fellow other six members of BTS! RM said,” to use BTS music use BTS to love yourselves because he said I’m using your love to love myself! If they’re not gonna go down in history as the most legendary music group then that would be agreat travesty ! yeah a lot of people say there are other groups that came before BTS but what type of impact did they have in order to create this type of expression of love and fandom and artistry! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I'm going to be honest, as an ARMY I have to disagree with you. I think BTS was just the perfect lightning-in-a-bottle-esque group of members that just clicked together. They took advantage of things other groups didn't like social media, having an actual bond, the lack of fabrication (as you mention)... but I don't think it has much to do with how artistic or talented the members are (considering there are a lot of artistic and talented artists in K-POP). I think that does have something to do with how they've maintained their popularity, but there are tons of multitalented groups. BTS had a combination of talent, luck and chemistry. I don't think that's unique to them, I think they got there FIRST, and now other groups and companies are trying to recreate this phenomenon. Unfortunately for them, you can't replicate once-in-a-life groups like BTS. There's going to be something different that has to come around to see this type of 'flowerwork' again.

This!! Totally agree. BTS are not the best singers, rappers, producers or lyricists in KPop, more do they have the best music composition or production. Even if they have the best concepts/themes, this is not what their success should be attributed to. It was the clever social media usage and media usage in general (logs, vlive, festa etc.) which gave fans an intense connection to BTS. That woth the fact that they are respectable young men who love each other like brothers makes them easy to love. This is not ti say that they lack talent - far from it - but it is wrong to say their singing or producing surpasses kpop. (ALSO AN AVID ARMY)

@@machinelearner108 You can have your opinion. But come on, saying BTS doesn't have the best rappers is a total lie

@Eli-xo1kq I certainly think BTS have the best rapline in KPop holistically. The 3 rappers balance each other perfectly and all three have flawless technique, diction and rhythm wise. However, they are not the best rappers in KPop individually. Check out the youtube channel Car Kpop to learn about other Kpop rappers. Essentially, BTS stick to simpler flow schemes than some other rappers out there (Zico, Mino, Stray Kids). The rappers u just named are well known for their ability to use syncopation and complex rhyme schemes which BTS have shied away from since around 2014. RM who was BTSs strongest rapper from 2013-2015 changed his musical direction completely and honestly now struggles to deliver an interesting multisyllabke rhyme or interesting flow switch.

Agreed, BTS are the best. I have and still am listening to other K Pop groups, but when I express my opinion or vote BTS, I get comments on how "closed minded" I am or how "I'm joining the band wagon" or other comments. The other thing I see A LOT is fandoms leaving rude comments, disrespecting BTS/ARMY, making it look/sound like their group is better than BTS. I don't really respond to those comments, but its irritating how much those comments are made. Why do they have to try to convince people that their group is better than BTS, when they're on a BTS posting on FB, or other social media. The posting has nothing to do with their group, it's ARMY just congratulating BTS on their success or communicating with each other. In my own opinion, BTS will NEVER be matched, they're the only BTS. Thank you for sharing.

Can we also talk about bts' "love" for armys? Nowadays, it seems like a requirement for groups to include their fans with everything, but is it real? Because of the relationship of bts and army, you see every groups in award shows thanking their fans and expressing their love. It's a good thing, but sometimes i don't feel the sincerity. It feels like it's just part of the script. The group's actions is not congruent to their "love" for fans because i can still see the "celebrity to fan" interaction. You know what i mean? It's like the fans still feel like "fans", not someone closer to them like a friend or a family. There's nothing bad about it but i just feel like it's hypocrisy. Telling your fans that you love them but you don't really care, you're just up for the fame.
