Thanks it was a lot of fun and glad to put another resource out there for Boral. More architects need to consider the benefits of Boral and its water-resistant nature. Very pleased with the Boral products

Nice work! Thoughts on if Boral could be used for window frames and sashes?

Did you use Boral product for the lap siding as well? Would like more information on which product you used and how you installed it. Looks great!
@tigerpawconstruction56643 жыл бұрын
Yes, Boral sells a Dutch lap and V Groove options which would be considered a lap siding when installed horizontally. It tongue and grooves into each other rather than laps on top of each other but is still considered a lap siding. Hope this helps!

You mentioned you also used Hardiplank with the Boral siding on this project. Where did you use the Hardi? Around the windows? And if so, what is the benefit of the Hardi for that application over using Boral?

@Tiger Paw Construction ...I'm interested in using Boral for a spring remodel. I love this window trim detail and would like to see the drawing. Do you have the window drawing available?
@tigerpawconstruction56643 жыл бұрын
The trim size is 5/4 x 4 and is woodgrain. We custom made the sills with a 2x4 Boral piece. Hopefully, this helps you in your project!

Nice video. I saw another one where someone pointed out a lot of small holes in the face of the Boral siding - can you speak to this? Cheeers,

No issues when or if you encounter this ... the Poly-ash material may have this effect but should not be a biggy after painting it. Thanks!

I got a question, I’m painting a BORAL SHIPLAP SMOOTH 10" (FOR 9" EXPOSURE) x 16' (9pc/sq). And after I finish the paint, I still seeing the circles on all the holes I fill with wood filler. I send 100% all the wood filler. I don’t know if That is normal or not. I can show you pictures

You’re supposed to use Boral screw plugs not wood filler. They’re plastic and paint over extremely well.

@@Jessi8074seriously? You can’t y\use nails? Westlake doesn’t mention that. That’s a deal killer if you want to do soffits upside down

What do you use to flash the but joints with this style of siding seeing as it has that little lip that sits on the piece below it?

Thank you for sharing! It looks like a very good material to work with which give quite a few options and with a very nice texture. How would you compare this product to 5/8 planks by Artisan and Nichiha smooth finish (not wood texture )? This Boral plank starts at 1" thickness and likely is quite more expensive. I would be very grateful if you can answer.
