No joke, in the late '90s I spent some time in various parts of Former Yugoslavia and it wasn't uncommon to see all kinds of contraptions on the road, pulled by horses, and also trailers powered by rotavators with the blades removed. I guess they were the cheapest engines around. Oh, and they would drive at night, in the pitch black, with no lights. Lots of accidents with cars as you might imagine.

I live about 40 km (as the crow flies across the water) from Pamela's childhood ocean-side family home in BC, Canada. She's spending a lot of time there renovating the house and property (she even did a multi-part documentary about that) and I've been hoping I might cross paths with her one day... but it hasn't happened yet. The locals in the little township of Ladysmith take her presence very casually and by all reports she's an extremely nice person.

Regarding the "racial" humor: The thing is that the "racist humor" is not really directed towards Borat, or "Kazakhs" nor the country of Kazakhstan, and neither to the idea of Eastern Europeans and Central Asians, but towards the USA people, who are oblivious to the outside cultures and who are projecting their racism, xenophobia, insecurities, ignorance and general discomfort or hatred to outsiders. Borat is just a vehicle to show and display the bigotry, intolerance, ignorance, racism and stupidy of the people he interacted with in the USA. That's the point of it all. Hope you're doing great!

The "not" jokes originated from "Wayne's World", a sketch from Saturday Night Live that became a couple movies. The jokes were popular for a couple years, but people stopped saying them long before this movie came out (that old guy was peddling an out-of-date joke). If you search KZbin for SNL videos, you can probably find the original joke which might make it easier to understand the timing.

Your sister covering your eyes during the fight scene really had me laughing!! xD xD xD About the racist and misgonystic jokes, even when this movie was made that wasn't anything to laugh about. The humor is in Sacha having the nerve to be so blunt about it, and furthermore how some people just honestly agrees with him. The jokes are on them. The scenes from "Kazakhstan" were acually shot in a Romanian village, where the inhabitants really weren't told what the movie was about or what he was saying, none of them barely knew any english. There's a documentary about how they felt used afterwards. I'm sorry that I don't remember the name of it. Had fun rewatching this with you! Thanks for uploading! Greetings from Sweden

The racial humor in this movie is in the same vein as the racial humor in Mel Brooks movies. Sacha is portraying himself as ignorant when he's being racist and is getting people to make fools of themselves when he gets them to show their own bigotry.
