Es lässt sich darüber streiten ob ein Border Collie der richtige Hund für diese Art Hundesport ist. Sicher ist, das diese Hunde sehr gelehrig sind. Was man aber ganz eindeutig sehen kann ist das dieser Hund völlig frei von Aggression ist. Für den ist das einfach ein riesen Spaß.

Love these two, my faraway border collie friends 🙂 i have to think all these people leaving rude comments about the breed are just mad they can't get this far with their "traditional breeds". We have a saying in the U.S. , "Haters gonna hate" . They forgot border collies, GSDs and belgian breeds are all from similar ancestry. Good for you Glenn and Luna , you're my inspiration with my BC pup Fin.

Agree, and most people forgets that this is a sport only!! Who cares if this is not the best breed for it? And if you criticize, how many times you've won a title or how many dogs have you presented to a top level competition??

Phantastische Leistung! Früher war ich auch auf vielen Wettkämpfen mit Unterordnung und Schutzdienst und damals Jugend-Hessenmeisterschaften - aber lange ist es her...Wenn dieser Collie 78 Punkte bekam, dann wurde aber hart gerichtet, falls es ingesamt noch 100 Punkte geben sollte...Nach alledem, was ich von Border-Collies bisher sah, begeistern die mich immer mehr als Arbeitshunde...alles Gute weiterhin!!!

So sehe ich das auch ! Besser hätte ich es nicht schreiben können. Ich war früher als Kind/ Jugendliche auch im Hundesport unterwegs. Deutsche Meisterschaft und Landesmeisterschaft mit gelaufen,ansonsten Kreismeisterschaften in Hessen mit gelaufen ,hab zwar nur Seminare im Schutzdienst gemacht und Fährte ,aber war aktiv im ths - CSC, Hindernislauf,2000m und normale Unterordnung dabei mit vielen Hunden und auch meinen Husky .

es wurde gezogen,was gezogen werden musste.. er hat sehr weiträumig reviert, war stellenweise nicht führig, die griffe nicht immer voll,ds verbellen nicht wirklich druckvoll. insgesamt fehlt diesem hund druck.. aber wenn man mit so einem nicht igp-hund startet, muss man mit dem abzug leben... zweifelsohne sehr gute ausbildung..

Großartig! Mein erster BC in so einem Video. Mag sein, dass man ihm nach dem "Anbiss" (?) durch die Gegend tragen kann, aber ein Duell im Wer blinzelt zu erst, gewinnt def. dieser BC. So krass, wie er Augenkontakt hält bzw. auch ein bisschen lustig, wie er krass am Angreifer mit Kontakt leicht vorläuft, um den Übarm im Auge zu behalten. Ich bin total er Laie, was sowas angeht, aber auch der Meinung, das 25kg BC oder in meinem Fall BC/Schafpudelmix durchaus für gute Ablenkung beim Angreifer sorgen können, in einer scharfen Auseinandersetzung. Und eine gute Möglichkeit sich mit dem Hund zu beschäftigen, ist diese Art von Hobby definitiv. Alles Gute und Gesundheit sowie viel Spaß weiterhin. Frage: Bellt er nicht, soll er nicht verbellen oder darf er nicht verbellen? Wobei ich persönlich die Stille Aufmerksamkeit durchaus angenehmer empfinde, als dieses hysterische Gekläffe bei vielen anderen Hunden.

@meatebutouy nennt man stilles bewachen, kann man den Hunden antrainieren oder sie bringen das von Haus aus mit. diese Art des bewachens hat viele Vorteile und nur wenige Nachteile. allerdings dies anzutrainieren ist nicht ganz so einfach. Lg

This dog should have been DQed for the rear cross... at a championship no less. Hold and bark was the saddest thing I ever saw. Best not to allow the dog to continue. This is not supposed to be for prey. The auto outs... what the fuck has this sport become???

Maxisse most bitesport dogs are working in play mode and would not make good real life protection dogs. It’s really not much different than teaching them agility or fly ball

Many Border Collies LOVE to bite, and it can be a challenge when working sheep, as you have to train them to contain it, so it's nice to have a sport where your dog is allowed to let that out, even if just in "play" mode.

You all forgot that malinois and gsds werent bred for protection either. If they would take a new line of bcs with a high protection rate in about 20years this would be no problem for them too! Gsds and malinois were also bred for herding so. They all three have the same ancestry

Alle Shepered können das, es gehört zu ihrem Instinkt. Mein Rough Collie alter Arbeitslinie tut dies als Schutz für unsere Familie ist aber immer abrufbar. Spaß, das ist ehr Arbeit der Spaß ist das positive Feedback vom Besitzer.

Wow, wusste gar nicht, dass Border Collies auch im Schutzhundesport eingesetzt werden. Da denkt man als Laie ja in erster Linie an deutsche oder belgische Schäferhunde und die sonstigen typischen Schutzhunderassen. Aber der Hund macht seinen Job ja echt großartig. Nur mal so aus Interesse, auch wenn das für den Sport nicht wirklich relevant ist: wie ist denn die Bisskraft eines BC im Vergleich zum Malinois?

Nein, der Hund ist die Ausnahme. Aber man sieht das man viele Hunderassen ausbilden kann.

Die Beißkraft eines Bordercollies ist etwas geringer. Dazu kommt, das die meisten ein sehr schmales Maul haben. Fairerweise muss man halt auch sagen, das viele BC aus der Showlinie zu weich für so einen Sport sind. Die Arbeitslinie hält einiges mehr aus (die werden ja auch von den Schafen regelmäßig auf die Probe gestellt) .

Most dogs just love to play. This is "play" . And as great as this is for people to see....could we really sacrifice our dogs to a threat? WIth all the training some people put their dogs through? Those owners would need to "detach" themselves from their dogs. Have an employee take care of their "guard dog" which would need to be "on edge" to be always ready to "attack" if that was their job. As a dog owner that's owned two for personal "enjoyment" I dont agree with the idea of "Guard dogs". No dog should be put in harms way ever. No matter the breed. They should all have good lives. Happy and healthy. Loved always. Played with.

Almost all working dogs are trained through play, just like any SAR dog or drug dog, it's never really work, it's always a game or fun activity for the dogs which is why they do it. And while I would never sacrifice my dog willingly, if something was to happen and she was with me I'd at least have faith that she herself could possibly deter a threat on my life or wound an attacker enough to identify them, most people other than serial killers, don't want to mess with an angry dog, if someone has a PPD dog and that dog saves a child from being kidnapped and alerts the community to danger then it's job is done right there, very few PPD are in life threatening situations, they are literally trained to deter that exact circumstance with the additional training on how to respond in an escalation if there really is a danger, and they don't need to be "on edge" a PPD dog should be level headed at all times or they are not fit to work, they are trained to recognize a suspicious person just like any person does walking about, they alert to danger and then rely on their handler to tell them the next step. Plus a dog trained for personal protection and property protection are two different things, like a border collie who does agility compared to a sheep herder, those are two different activities entirely, plus, what employee is looking after a dog on business grounds without the owner? I'm not even sure that's legal, it's a liability and I can't think of a situation where that would even occur. They don't need to detach from their dogs because they are working dogs, they are disciplined and controlled, no stressing over a dog being a bite risk or "being sad sleeping alone" if that's what you're implying. You don't seem very well versed in the subject I advise you research the different types of protection work dogs and actual working dogs versus bite sport dogs as seen here, so you understand what you are watching and the vast difference between groups and purpose
