Ehhhh....sometimes, lots of times. Remember that Border Collies are possibly the smartest dogs there are. A girlfriend I once had and I had a sheepdog (dumbest dogs!) and we got a little kitten. Well, things were going swimmingly for a few weeks, the dog loved the kitten and they played together, all adorable and all that. And then one day, the kitten was burrowing under the big dog and sneezed. In one move, the sheepdog jumped up and literally bit the cat's head off. The kitten had a broken neck and died shortly thereafter.

We had a Jack Russel Terrier and a black cat that did the same exact thing. Looked like the cat was scratching our dog's eyes, but he never had the claws out when they played. Miss them both

Dogs who are loved and provided with a safe, secure, caring environment are so heartwarming. Anyone who claims they are just stupid animals and we as humans project emotion and intelligence where there is none are fools. Those who claim they don’t smile. What a life they must lead. Ignoring the characteristics that so clearly prove the dogs emotional intelligence. I feel sorry for anyone who fails to see the traits that make pet ownership so rewarding. This is one of the most beautiful dogs I have ever seen.

Border Collies are highly energetic. My boss use to bring in hers, and her yellow lab. Two different breeds. But collies are herders. She was extremely tolerant here. But amazing when you see kitten and adult dogs, the kittens take on their "adults" personality. They learn.
