A window of this size is quite sufficient for hunting. The bow is made for hunting and not for long-range shooting. It's more a matter of habit than a problem, maybe over time you find an advantage in that or meybe not... But I 100% agree with you that it's always up to the archer. Greeting Peter, great channel.

The sight window is as short as it is because the Riser is short and it needs strength. If you want a bigger psych when do you need a longer bow

#1 Pete with your form you could shoot a stick with fishing line. #2 Completely agree on the advantage of big hooks in a treestand very easy to move around. #3 The biggest advantage of the big hooks is the ability too shoot lower poundage while not giving up any performance or actually gaining some over older designs. #4 Like you I like a Large sight window. Personally it helps me set my aim easier but that’s just preference. Great honest review. #5 How about a video of you cooking those beautiful pheasants?

Nice video Peter. I shoot a Border Covert Hunter. That draw cycle takes a bit of getting used to. At first I found the early load up hard to deal with but I am used to it now. Conventional bows feel very odd after shooting a Border for a year or so! Thanks for the review the Moss Trooper looks like a nice bow.

Hey Peter. Nice idea. The window is so small for stability reasons. If the bow maker had cut it out further, the stability would have become extremely dangerous. If you shoot the bow traditionally instinctively, you can tilt it and easily pass the window with your view... 😂

great review Peter. I agree with all you say as I have a mosstrooper and love it. But not necessarily more than other bows I have (they get jealous if I have a favourite 😊). I think the covert hunter at the same poundage has the edge on energy delivered, although my CH is a few years old now. I don't find the moss trooper sight window an issue but I think we all sight shots a little differently. I am pretty sure I am very binocular when sighting. I find the mosstrooper forgoving, light and short, but like the CH its not quiet, there has to be a price for those curves. Rhydragon shows a video on youtube showing the CH in slo mo after the shot. I vibrates vertically like a compound, hence no hand shock but there is some noise. If I had to name my biggest plus for the MT its the draw curve. Its so silky at the back end and I pull 31 1/2". I love mine.
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Mine does not make more noise than my other bows! But there is som “resonanse”! “Low noise” vibrations in the bow when shot! It can not be heard 1 meter away, it can be felt shooting it.

most of the time, it is our form or lack of consistent form that makes it harder for us to shoot some bows. we can sometimes get away with some things with some bows but then it becomes a real problem with other bows. as for me, if I didn't have too much money in the bow, I would make the sight window bigger myself. not making it deeper on the cut to center but just extending the sight window upwards. I too hate a small sight window. I now shoot a 62" longbow to be able to shoot one easier out of a tree.

Also, it is not AMO 60" long, but 61.5"...😊 AMO always says first the string length, then +3" the bow length. And not the other way around. I have already made flemisch strings for the bow that are 147cm long. 😌147cm are unfortunately 61.5".😅

Hi Peter, I remember that in one of your recent videos you mentioned a problem with Border bow. If I'm not mistaken- it was something about laminate feeling apart- am I correct? If yes could you please remind me which video it was? Someone has a similar problem with ''borders'' and I understand they are denying fault - so I would like to forward it to him. Many thanks.
@peterjuulsgaard
@peterjuulsgaard 2 жыл бұрын
Well, I’ve never made a video about the fault in the Border Mosstrooper, but I have probably talked about it in the comments. And that’s correct that the upper limb was delaminating one day I was drawing back. The bow was 2 years old at the time (build in 2018) they claimed it was out of warrenty because I wasen’t the original owner. They also claimed that the 14 strand string I was using was wrong for the pounds, they said I should have used a 16 strand string. But the string I was using was the string the bow came with. However! They offered 20% discount if I bought another new one. I told them no thanks, and bought the Morrison Max 6 from USA instead. Never had a problem.

@@peterjuulsgaard Thank you very much Peter. Yes, It could be in some comment section, I wasn't sure and can not find it. In my opinion it is a good choice that you haven't returned to them and chosen another company. That person I mentioned. is an owner of an archery shooting business in Glasgow and yet, I understood they are suggesting it was his fault due to incorrect storage of something like this. That in my opinion is a bizarre explanation, as the splinters can't be related to the storage. I understood the bow is on warranty, and - believe me or not- they suggested using a superglue to fix it :). I will email the link to that gentleman. Kind regards

@@rafaljarosz7094 to compare you can take the Bodnik Mohawk with 30 years warrenty 😲 It can’t be right that a “high end” bow like a Border is so sensitive, that you need to change the string, just because you forexamble are pulling one inch longer. And we are not talking 31” or anything. My Border was marked 49 pounds at 26” and I was drawing it 27” so I’ve probably have had 50-51 pounds on the fingers. But the string needed to have more strands to do that🤷‍♂️. On a Bodnik Mohawk, there is no minimum strand numbers, nor any minimum arrow weight, and there is still 30 years warrenty. Yeah I know the Border is a Super Recurve and the Mohawk is not, but when I bought the Morrison Super Recurve I asked: how many strands are required for my 50 pounds? Morrison said 12 strands are fine. I do use a 16 strands string, tho. Just to be sure.

To radical in the curve, talk about twisted limbs I can see a huge problem there. I've shot traditional for 30 yrs and went Rd longbow over 20 yrs ago because of limb twist in a recurve and wouldn't go back . Thay are as fast as most recurve and game can't tell the difference. But it is a good looking bow I like the riser material contrast.
