I feel like having this early game might make people not switch up their weapons and just stick to something they already put work in, BUT something like this for strictly endgame could be pretty cool. Instead of refarming your gear every OP/Mayhem/Chaos level u just use *insert endgame currency here* to upgrade it.
@Chumplunt5 ай бұрын
Amen. Borderlands is the “billion gun game”. Restricting early game variety is not good. End game op leveling though makes sense where most guns become irrelevant
@Caspeaon3 ай бұрын
I also want them to add some way to upgrade gear to track kills like Destiny 2 did. It made specific guns feel special and made you feel closer with gear you spent thousands of hours grinding to get
@dobwen15425 ай бұрын
I think that prestiging gear insentivises you to stick to the gear uve had the longest and presumably have levelled up (or prestiged) the most and makes it harder to switch up your build until you've gotten your new gear to the same tier, which may take hours of grinding to do. This could definitely work if they balance it right, however I don't trust gearbox to find the perfect point in-between too much grinding to the point where it becomes a chore u have to complete for all your guns, and too little work required to prestige where it doesn't feel rewarding enough or take enough time to actually add any meaningful content to the endgame. My suggestion for borderlands 4 endgame would be to implement a rogue-like gamemode (similar to the borderlands 2 mod "roguelands"), or some sort of replay system that allows you to run through the gameplay again without having to trudge through the story you're already familiar with. I love Killer-Six and Joltz's series where they do challenge runs or manufacturer alliegences however I am never motivated to complete them myself as each run requires countless hours of boring combat missions, dialogue and plot twists I have already experienced numerous times. I also believe that this compulsory completion of the story is a wall preventing people from replaying the game on other vault hunters. Maxxing out your Moze then finding level 72 gear which would perfectly suit a zane build but then knowing you would have to spend tens of hours completing the same stuff you've just done to try it out can be really frustrating, (I speak from experience). I do think that downloading savefiles can fix this issue, however an in-game feature would be really nice plus I don't know if loading savefiles is even possible on console so it would be nice for them too. Otherwise, I to this day still love the endgame loot system that has already been implemented into most of the recent games (excluding vanilla wonderlands). (On borderlands 3 redux) I still find myself pouring hours into farming godrolls, pearls, contraband items and certain prefixes (like the super shredifier and boom sickle). And whilst I understand that this can be absolutely mind-numbing and painstakingly boring for most people, there is a dedicated minority who love this aspect of the endgame, so I pray that they keep this in the next installments.

Idk about early game but endgame that would work super well and it would add an endgame use for gold
@jordanbrooks77685 ай бұрын
This but i'd prefer small stat increases but more potent legendary effects. Example: storm sniper at level 1 does 3 orbs, level 2 does 4 etc etc. This would allow gearbox to buff weapons via theses added effects instead of raw damage. It would also stop people from using a gun for 5 mins and saying its trash
@ulviyazici9363 ай бұрын
One problem I see with that is, that if you can level up individual weapons than there are two options. Firstly, the game is harder at the beginning and you can basically only play the weapons you have levelled up, or the game gets way too easy after you leveled your weapons up, because if it doesent get easier then were is the point of leveling up your weapons, also you cant really scale the enemys with the progression of that one weapon, because youd have to change the stats of the enemys the moment you switch weapons, which would make it more difficult with scaling dots etc,

@infinityzer0545 ай бұрын
Maybe extract certain parts from any weapon when you farm them (rarity might not be interchangeable)
@littlerice335 ай бұрын
@@infinityzer054 then legendaries need to be soooo rare,no? because you could create strong god rolls so fast if we keep the same numbers and decreasing those numbers makes the game boring for casual players maybe a complete new facturer (idk the real name rn, like dahl and maliwan) could make it possible and then it would be easier to balance it or a new rarity like "ancients" that were crafted hundreds of years ago by the eridians and are able to exchange different parts of their guns which would fit right into the whole great war scheme
@Gnomable5 ай бұрын
Leveling up weapons is a neat idea for endgame although I imagine there's a lot of ways to make it too grindy.
@Mr.Marvis5 ай бұрын
Having a mechanic to personalize weapons would be really cool. However since there are already so many weapon parts in Borderlands, which I dont think will change, it seems to me a better idea to be able to make certain parts. So instead of universal upgrades you need to gather materials to make a Vladof grip and then you can put that grip on a gun. The materials should be gained by playing certain maos, takedowns, killing bosses etc. And in case of bosses, they should be a guaranteed drop, maybe even multuple, but then you need like 20 of the material.
@saltedhorsemeat48435 ай бұрын
I envisioned the idea of the Pre Sequels grinder myself, easy to access but you’re not going to have everything you’ll need to actually make something really rare or useful until much later and youre sacrificing gear you’re not going to use But then that would lead to the problem of, say, wanting the accessory that gives shotguns an extra pellet per shot or a reflex sight on a pistol, I doubt Gearbox would make getting a Legendary version of those easy without having to first get an absurd amount of equivalent Purple and Legendary parts first, so the idea of customizable weapons is real easy for Gearbox to make annoying in the name of farming
@GiblixStudio3 ай бұрын
How about... BL2 OP Levels. Instead of needing to re-farm the gear for updated stats every 3-4 OP Levels. You instead gather the materials and it is the Awakening that will upgrade the weapon to an OP10 version. Would make the OP Levels more enjoyable tbh

I actually would hate to see this in a borderlands game. Part of the fun in bl is, that every time you start a new character, the game starts from 0. There are no permanent unlocks, outside of stuff like Badass/Guardian Rank (which sucks for precisely this reason) and Cosmetics. This is the way it should stay. Permanently upgrading item's potency on a profile level is not something i want; if it was on a per-character basis, maybe.
@EpicNNG5 ай бұрын
Per character basis could work too. Maybe a one time upgrade for each piece of loot? :))
@Bonelord695 ай бұрын
Something would have to change in how players acquire the item rolls they want, otherwise you'd have to grind to get the item and then grind to level it up too. I like the ideas here, but adding grind on grind is something they need to ease up on.
@littlerice335 ай бұрын
tbh why not make cooler weapon skins and hide them behind a progression system like that i just feel like gaerbox would use it to try to sell something to you but i still think its a good idea
@dobwen15425 ай бұрын
yeah I agree, have gun skin progression similar to CoD's gun camo system. Prestiging guns limits variety and incentivises you to stick to the gear u fist acquired and prestiged rather than new different equipment. a cosmetic mastery system would mean that you can still grind out rewards for a weapon u love but also be able to try out new gear and builds whenever.

This may work, cause I see the logic of upgrading your weapons. However, mayhem scaling [yes, that methodology] automatically applies that to weapons in BL3, and in BL2 it was VHM, TVHM, or UVHM. Assuming you had legendary drop percentages like BL3, that's a lot of grinding to both get the weapons and get mats to upgrade

Can you do a video where you rank all the sanctuary’s/hub worlds in all the games including wonderlands. Curious to where you would rank them and why, I personally think Concordia is underrated.

I like this idea, but wayfinder has significantly less weapons as far as I know, so it fits to add that grind in. Borderlands has so many weapons, question for me would be if it applies to only legendaries? Or maybe on a per type per manufacturer basis? I wouldn’t want to leave out good purples.
