They really need to start highering a small group of die hard fans and the devs themselves to come on board early for these adaptations to have some type of oversight to make recommendations to ensure integrity to the source material. Its good that they gave a game adaptation a big budget but the people making the film aren't passionate about the games and it shows.

I'm glad they had fun making it :) I have a feeling that this movie will grow on people over time once they discover it on streaming. It wasn't my cup of tea, and I think it was mainly because I don't like the tone. However this movie might of have not made it to production without him, and I wish that there was an R rated directors cut of the movie in line with his previous work, because I think that would have been a lot more entertaining and felt more authentic. It felt like they were trying to appeal to too broad of an audience, trying to bring in young people and older people, when they ended up failing to find a consistent tone that could zone in on a specific audience. If I could rewrite the timeline, I would have replaced the A list Actors with more up and coming stars who better matched the personality of the characters. This would have also brought the budget down considerably. Upping the violence, giving some more grounded and gritty serious moments, making it feel more like KICK ASS and WATCHMEN, (but not sacrificing the humor and personality of the games) would have given the movie more credibility with audiences.

id kill for them to stop wasting money on getting big actors and start investing that into animation and the og vas... there are so many video game movies that would have been better if they weren't live action.. All that said, I did love the action scenes and Krieg was perfectly casted.

It blows my mind that Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino are friends. You would think that at least SOME of Quentin's filmmaking skills would rub off on him. But nope! I mean, he has to be the least talented director ever. I cant think of another example of such an embarrassment getting such a large budget. There are a ton of awful Marvel movies, but those movies are essentially made by the producers. This guy actually had a "vision" but not the talent to pull it off. He's right though, there is no green screen. Its blue.

The movie is a disappointing adaptation of Borderlands franchise and a waste of 120 million dollars( and i don't say this as a hater )i say this as a Borderlands fan who loves the game and this broke my heart.
