You would never be able to tell that was the same chest! I didn't know that about the safety locks. I have one right now I'm waiting to start on and I can't wait 6 months for a crappy latch to arrive haha. I love your work. I can't believe you only decoupaged a could times! You did a professional job. Bravo!

lol at 6 mos for a crappy lock - exactly! I’m going to inform rather than perform replacements. Thanks for hosting- I feel like I missed the December challenge. Hope you continue to do these - they are fun.

I personally love to decopage! This turned out amazing and I loved the edition of the pin legs! I adore hope chests! I guess I come from that generation of girls that grew up receiving one. It was my graduation gift and was full of things that my Mom and two Aunties bought to start my first apartment with. It had bedding, towels, a sewing kit and dishes and silverware. My Aunts even included rolls of quarters to do laundry with! It was all very sweet!!! ❤❤❤ I lost my hope chest in a house fire many years ago. I now want to find a chest to redo! It looks like such fun!!! I also love old steam trunks. They tend to go for much more money, of coarse! Thanks for sharing. You truly took a project from trash to treasure or ugly duckling to swan! ❤❤❤

I really enjoyed your comment - I remember when everyone was getting hope chests too. I got a cardboard box lol. One of my friends said she got a small lane chest from school - I think it was some sort of advertising deal and 50 years later she still had it. Good luck on your search - those Lane chests pop up all the time. Depending on where you are - you can get a pretty good deal. This one was from a thrift store for around $20. I recommend seeing the chest redo by Brushed by Brandy.

I'm not a steampunk fan--but I do like this. 😀 So glad you were able to save that Lane chest. You have also inspired me to use some horses in my crafting. Thanks for the video ~
