My mom had BPD which was hard for me and generally I am afraid of those who have it but Rachel is extremely likable and it is admirable and commendable how frank she is discussing it and how much work she is doing to better herself.

I have a very mild case, along with other disorders/etc (see my comment above) and I am very functional. I'm medicated and am in weekly therapy. It's taken me 30+ years to get here (mentally healthy), but I am here. Happier than ever. xo

When I was 9 we had a older female cousin who lived next door with her family. She was called "hyper" in the late 80s at 12. Around 16 she was batshit crazy. Set fires, assaulted our granny several times and us five younger cousins and siblings. Fast forward 35 some years. She is better, 100% better but to forgive her for her violence is hard to swallow. I'll say this. I just keep my conversations with her to one word answers or vocal ques, like, "aha, hah or eh." Police were involved at lest 4 times with that particular cousin when we were kids.

I’ve lived with BPD before, and I had to leave her before she killed me. Worst experience of my entire life. Would not recommend.

I'm so glad I landed here. I have minor BPD, cyclothymia, Anxierty, Depression, PTSD from childhood trauma and SA. IN recovery from the 80s/90s stripping sceen of pure MDMA, blow, the usual. The advice you both gave and received is so valuable!! Thank you!! Dr. Drew and I spoke twice: Once, on LoveLine and once on CNN Live. I am the "POLE TO SOUL" girl. " I am the ex-stripper from Waikiki! My memoir is out. I just sent Christina P and Jamie a copy. I would love to gift you one as well. #FaceValue#Book

I’ve had doctors tell me that it’s often so misdiagnosed because a BPD diagnosis is so hopeless anyways.

It isn't "hopeless," it's damn tough though, definitely. Many doctors hesitate to diagnose because of stigma...both inside and outside the medical system. Just look at these comments...

Only a qualified psychologist/psychiatrist who specializes in BPD should be trusted to provide a diagnosed, NEVER your primary physician or gynecologist or orthopedic surgeon or internist or chiropractor.

Having bpd is no excuse to abuse your partner. The time I dated some one with bpd was the most turbulent and unstable time of my life, they didnt even try to get help... if you're in a situation where they refuse to get help RUN NOW.

Sounds like a her issue rather than a BPD issue. Sorry you had something bad happen to you. I hope you get the help you need to heal through the hurt you're still feeling.
@DuelingNetsJadenyuki
@DuelingNetsJadenyuki Жыл бұрын
@matthewishunting it's been years now I'm doing much better although it did fuck me up for years. As far as bpd being the issue, it was her refusal to seek help for symptoms like paranoid ideation, anger outbursts over the smallest things, and self-loathing. It was indeed a her issue, but bpd symptoms certainly exasperated things. I tried to help her as much as I could, and she became extremely codependent and emotionally verbally and even sometimes physically abusive. It's not a disorder that CAUSES this behavior, but bpd can certainly exasperate things

No, there isn't "an antisocial" personality disorder. Antisocial personality disorder is its own thing. BPD is what's called a "cluster B" personality disorder. Howwver, APD (antisocial personality disorder) is ALSO a cluster B personality disorder.
