Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

This video is really captivating! I really enjoyed how you shared the work process on your farm, especially the details about growing corn and managing the irrigation system. The moment with the colorful bird in the field was so interesting too! I'm curious to know what kind of machinery your farm typically uses? Are you satisfied with their performance? I'd love to hear more about your experience with these tools and the improvements you're making for the next harvest. Wishing you continued success and a bountiful season!

Just curious about the water for the irrigated field. Is there much difference between the nutrient makeup of the well water compared to the river water??? 🤔🤔🤔

Lol if there's roughly 90000 grains of corn per bushel, he gets 250 bushels per acre and farms 2000 acres, that's 45.000.000.000 grains (45 Billion). Anyone want to guess how many calculations my graphics processor does per second? 800 times more, or 45.000.000.000.000. And his total harvest weight has 20.000.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 atoms.

Why don’t you try a hot number from Pioneer or Dekalb in your irrigated field. Farming is all about the Benjamins

That bird was a peacock or peafowl. Search for a picture. That wasn't a wild bird it wandered off from someone's hobby farm or something.

Just wondering why your row shutoffs on the planter did not turn off when you went into a planted swath? Or did you not have section control turned on?
