An ecosystem like this no matter who makes it will mold and plants will die but.. eventually it find an equilibrium but until then it rides the ebbs and flows of nature.

I like looking for bottles in the old dump piles around the forested properties near my place. Sometimes you find an old mason jar with a neat forest inside. Flourishing, protected from much of the harsh weather. It is neat. When collecting glass bottles it's hard to decide if I should leave those ones there in place.
@Emeraldwitch30

I found a pickle jar(gallon sized) with a micro forest in it. We left it there for years and then the last year we had a wicked wind storm and a branch smashed it silly. I never thought to try and make one

@@Emeraldwitch30 That's cool. Microforrest haha 😄 it was unleashed into the bigger forest by being smashed. I found a gallon jug too, and now I use it to brew kombucha! It's amazing how long glass can avoid being smashed out there.
@Emeraldwitch30
@Emeraldwitch30 Жыл бұрын
@@wasthereasimplertime2618 I love my glass gallons. My brother in law was a restaurant manager and I must have 30 of the big olive/pickle jars squirrels away in my basement lol. I use them for making fermented pickles and for kombucha when I'm in the mood. It seems to be a summer thing for me and I'll drink gallons of double ferment bucha! Then winter time rolls in and the scoby ends up in the fridge lol. We do occasionally switch up and do water kefir too. With added honey or raspberries or strawberries from the garden for second high fizz ferment. Luckily Aldis has these lemonade bottles that are swing to for high pressure for $2.99usd and while you can take the big bottles back I end up using them for everything my kombucha and beer and water kefir to ginger bees beer

@atomicblastoise

A bonsai is like a sapling that is forced to grow in a way that makes it look like a miniature tree. This is a terrarium l, terrariums are manmade miniature land ecosystems there's also aquariums with aquatic plants and basically the same thing but in water and also usually done in a much larger container like a fish tank

@@atomicblastoise thx dude appreciate it but can you tell how should I start planting and making my own terrariums
@atomicblastoise
@atomicblastoise Жыл бұрын
@@faaaku2994 there's a lot more to it than just soil and plants like you need a culture of springtails which is a type of microscopic animal that eats mould and stuff like that, you can buy a culture or try to culture them on your own( you can find tutorial on how to culture them on KZbin) after you have a culture of springtails you need a false bottom which will hold water beneath the soil, just add some gravel and some activated charcoal and put some type of mesh on it so that it's separated from the soil and next add a substrate of your choice and add some plants of your choice, you can also add isopods( you can find them literally anywhere like they usually hide in patches of moss) if your container is big enough and if you want you can even add some frogs or geckos but only if the container is big enough and if you have done research on the species.
