@jookm12 сағат бұрын
You can do that with a Vulture. The thing is, since there isn't a mission for it so you'd have to do it when you have a mission to a friendly bunker so turrets don't get you and take care of it before you do the mission. So a mission is all that's needed, not a new ship.

If it works like a hull A it will double stack boxes. Then it would hold 12 on each side.
@IrisCorven5 сағат бұрын
Doubtful. If you're meant to stack them, then it blocks the printer for the final box for the full 12. If it extends out and flat, it ceases to line up with the printer and looks awkward. If it extends out, then the boxes underneath wouldn't be easily accessible. I think it's more likely the printer buffers are bigger than the Vulture's single printer, and then the purpose of the exterior grids is for loading from printer/unloading to freight elevator.
@FlightLizard12 сағат бұрын
What would be REALLY nice is if when Maelstrom is in, if we can use hull scraping like in the Vulture commercial to get to otherwise hard-to-reach components. Dare I say even Size 3 and greater. That would mean we can actually salvage Capital-class components, and not just go after cargo all the time. This would bring mkae salvage ships more lucrative within their own niche again. I could just be daydreaming, though.

@DoubtingTaom8 сағат бұрын
3:32 - I don't mind taking a break to dispense and organise my RMC in the Vulture, and working with a partner means we leave the pilot's seat only when we want to switch things up. I can usually put ~25 SCU in the Vulture's cargo area, with 13 SCU in the buffer before I unload. 38-39 SCU per run is normal for a Vulture. If the Fortune has only two pad arrays AND the output is 1 SCU crates, it'll be less capable than the Vulture. If the output is 2 SCU crates, it'll be marginally as good as the Vulture, and possibly equal so long as you can use the elevator to stow 4-5 SCU of run over.
@IrisCorven5 сағат бұрын
We don't know the important info yet - how big each buffer on each printer is. If we're looking at 2x6SCU conveyor grids, and then anywhere from 12SCU to 32SCU in the buffer, then that external "cargo" is most likely just for unloading.

@ShadowOfMachines4 сағат бұрын
All I've seen with the Fortune seems to me that it won't be big into breaking ships, more of a scraper focused ship. It looke like it'll automate the unloading of the buffer so you'll have the creates pump out the sides. If there is an internal bay too then that's where you'd put components you pull, but realistically this is going to be the best panel hunter. The Vulture will be able to scrape faster and possibly break more ships, if not just beable to break ships at all. But I am very interested in seeing the Fortune, see what it can and can't do. It'll be a great little addition to the Salvager category. I hope to see more salvage ships as time goes on. I'd love an ARGO salvager that has a large tractor beam on it, like an SRV's beam but as it's own station. Have a couple scrapers and the ability to break (and hold) medium ships. I'd like it.

Another possibility that is not talked about is that the fortune might be a "Smaller" version of the Vulture, actually cheaper and having less ability since it only has 1 salvage head, but it will probably just be a T2 I know. Still smaller would make it useful as well. What I am interested in is if the Prospector really will be able to set up like a stationary (and unmanned) Drill like in those videos never seen that before and think that would be pretty awesome.

I rally with Salvage and Mining could be combined in a way where the ship can be OUTFITTED to do one or the other, rather than needing 2 different ships... Treat it more like a modern tractor: you can attach the tools to do the job you want to do, but the underlying vehicle is the same... You have to go re-fit the ship to change the role.

Re: The Fortune Sneak Peaks (Internal and external) Looks to me like the cargo storage is going to be some sort of revolver style storage system. The previous "internal" shot of the storage area, showed very similar cargo grid panels behind doors (with buttons to open them) facing the internals of the ship. I think this grid will be loaded internally, then perhaps rotate or somehow transfer the containers to the exterior (allowing a partner to strip them off of the grid and store or transport) while the internal magazine is reloaded. Rinse repeat. Or perhaps I am imagining it cooler than it will be, lol.
