I'm so glad you made it to that little piece of paradise known as Colonsay. I certainly would return with Mrs - there's so much to do there other than climb hills - and make sure you take her to meet Gavin at the Pantry, which has won many awards as Best Cafe in the World, and suchlike. Don't leave without trying out the local beers - and definitely don't miss Gavin's honey ice-cream, as they farm a special type of bee there, to produce it! Also, check out the woodland garden,with so many specimen trees and flowering shrubs from all over the world! I see that you even met the goats on day 1 - you are honoured indeed - as they are believed to descend for those who swam ashore from a shipwreck of the Spanish Armada!

Nice video, man! I'll be on Colonsay for a night in a couple of weeks. It will be my first time visiting the island. My mom's clan is MacPhee, so that's part of why I'm going. I'll be staying at the Backpacker's Lodge in the middle of the island. Hoping the tide is low to walk to Oronsay, too. Can't wait!

Great adventure there Jim . And you cracked it with the blue skies . Great views, A very good and interesting wee film there mate. Just a pity there weren’t any trees the shelter you from the wind. Seeing The Golden Eagle must have been a massive plus. Shame about the deflation of your sleep system mind you. Well done

I'd only just woke up and clambered out of the tent when the eagle soared in to view. Due to my elevation, it was almost at eyeline. Amazing sight. Even the pad didn't spoil the trip, just a bit grumpy on the first night. Cheers Andy. 😎

What a great adventure Jim, I enjoyed sharing the whole trip with you. You're sure a great character to take on something unusual. I have been lucky to have visited most of the main Hebridian islands and the last time was Islay and Jura so nice to see them in the distance. Thanks for sharing. ATB 🍺👍

Thanks Scott. I was more concerned about being cold than uncomfortable but wasn't too bad, 2nd night was chilly. If I'd been disciplined, I wouldn't have had that beer (or the few after it) and bagged the southern MacPhies that evening when the tide was out. But I'm not and I didn't and the pint was spot on.😅😉😎👍

They don't do things by half on Colonsay - like the annual golf tournament. Open to all - only rule is you have to drink whisky after every shot you take... The winner is anybody still able to stand by the time they reach the 18th hole! And if that's too much for you, they also brew their own 🍺.
@BoredManOutdoors6 ай бұрын

That felt like I was waiting for Rocky IV to come out, 😂 Colonsay looked far better than big hills for, real shame about the bed, but looked like you still had a fabulous time, these small islands are all the same from a walking perspective, Islay is the same, no paths even when the map says there is a path. Just love the Hebrides at look like you got the weather, All the Best TtT ❣️
