There was a small bake shop that would serve Burek in the south of Hungary. I would have it there often when I made it to that part of the world, which was, fortunately, not that infrequently over about a 10 year period. That's the only time I've come across Burek and wouldn't know it otherwise. It's unusual because it's not Hungarian; we would have identified it more with Serbia, which is just across the border. Of course both peoples were occupied by the Turks, so there's the sharing of influence. And it was just like this too. Not too heavy on the meat. I'm glad to have found this and will definitely be making it. I may try adding a few peas for the boys and leave out the chili pepper. Maybe experiment with a tiny bit of rosemary or thyme. Kind thanks for posting it.

I have long wanted to make this after having eaten Burek in Melbourne over 40 years ago. I have been learning about the recipe for a long time now and would dearly love to purchase a Burek Pan/Pie dish such as you have in your video. Can you provide a link to a merchant somewhere in Turkey who could be be contacted, please?

This video is way too long. I stopped watching. You could have demonstrated this recipe in 5 minutes. It shouldn’t have taken 13 minutes. Use Gordon Ramsay videos as an example. He makes complicated dishes in 4 or 5 minute videos.
