The oboe/shawm thing just makes it all sound that much more pagan. It's also slightly out-of-tune and is fitting with the entire "sound" that I think Horner was reaching for, when he composed this piece. It's one of my favorite sorts of things. Try listening to the Scythian Suite by Prokofiev and the Danse Infernal in that suite. It's 3 minutes of terror, panic and bloodshed! Terrifically glorious!

I am not Klingon. I was born on earth in the year 1974. However, I served in the U.S. Navy until, I was orphaned by my own nation due to bogus laws and shady politicians. One night, I intended to end it all. A knock came to my door just as I was about to pull the.. well, you know. It was one of my people from Base! But, she looked older, refined, yet dressed up for Cosplay?? Huh?! Am I missing something here? NO! She told me she is here, for me! To take me somewhere where I can be without the constant suppression of life! I was "beamed" up to her ship?! What?! Well, I am now in the future compared to where I was. I now too, have my own vessel. Earth was under attack by these beings called Klingons when I arrived. I fought them hard, Angie and I both did. We both moved up the ranks easily. This war was nothing like earth had ever seen before!! Now though, I see what kept me under the Thumb, here in this Star Fleet as well.. Underpowered ships, thousands dying daily, One ship vs. many opponents.. Is someone trying to keep our numbers down?! I talked with the Romulans, relinquished my status with Star Fleet and joined their new efforts at Virinat. Angie stayed. We still collaborate and talk. Virinat is a new Home for the Romulans after the loss of Romulus. It was short lived. The Tal Shiar attacked our new home. Destroyed all that I worked so hard to get. This time? A twist, the ship I escaped in from the attack, although be it an aged Romulan Warbird, the I.R.W. Jazkal, I ended up joining the Klingons through the Romulan Alliance. Their ways are rather crude, but they Honor my ways for Freedom of Worship to my God. Unlike Star Fleet. I do not attack my people even though we do not see eye to eye. Now I heard there is a "mirrored" universe and there was rumors of a Grand vessel the Vengeance! And formidable ship! HUGE! Big enough it creates its own gravity!! IF one regular ship from any side went toe to toe with it? It overpowers them by literally 111 times!! Even heard of a race supposedly from earths FAR past the Voth! They have HUGE ships, yet this lone vessel can take them on, ALONE. Hmm.. my kind of ship! So, I devised a plan to.. Steal one. I succeeded! The odd thing was, I ran into the Mirrored version of my Ex Wife!! HUH!?! Well, she was easy to figure out, for she was the one assigned to this stolen ship by a group called the Terrans. Huh.. Not only did my crew and myself EASILY take the ship, she is completely MINE. With safeguards many would consider melodramatic. Star Fleet found out I got this ship and demanded I share its secrets with them. WRONG. I Keep the Peace now. I have teamed up with them on several fronts. Even befriending a Captain Shon of the Enterprise F. Nice ship! Still, far smaller than my own, but still has heart. Angie is a Fleet Admiral now. She even tried talking me into revealing my ships secrets. While visiting earth, I began thinking of my Naval History, the Oath I took etc.. I also had a relative Killed at Pearl Harbor on the only Battleship to get underway.. The Mighty USS Nevada BB-36. 'The cheer up ship" I located the wreck, and beamed it aboard my vessel. Realizing I hadn't named it yet!! SO! I took the wreckage and had crews rebuild her the way she was on THAT DAY of Infamy. She is a museum within my Nevada. NCC or well, NX now 733036 733 for the USS Nevada Submarine and 36 for the Battleship herself. I now hang out with the stars going around FIXING the things many try to disrupt or destroy. Believe me when I say this ship FIGHTS like a Klingon! that is why her Motto is: BATTLE BORN. (Find me on STO) :P
