0:11 what material is the t-slotted table made of? Is there an morse taper #2 option for the spindle? the machine base - is this cast iron or cast aluminum/zamak? thx!
@tryally Жыл бұрын
The machine base is Cast Aluminum, the Sherline uses 2024 aluminum alloy in most parts, the bed is cast steel, looks like 12L14 to me. In general it works well and has good durability. As for the morse taper, I am not sure if have taper #2 option for the spindle, but surely there must be some information on their website. All my Sherline machines uses Standard Morse #1 Taper Spindle Headstocks.

I have missed your videos. This one was very impressive! I knew the size of the Sherline lathe but it was easy to lose perspective until your hand came in to clear some chips and suddenly the lathe and aluminum work piece looked much smaller than my brain kept assuming it was. :-)
