The reason why many students think their English is bad, is because they use overused and boring words all the time! For example, some of the most boring words in English are "Smart or Wise, Bad, Big, Small and Little". There is nothing wrong with using these words all the time, but to improve your English vocabulary, and to be more accurate while writing or speaking in English, you can learn some synonyms to the commonly overused English words.
Boring words are words that we use a lot, and they might not add much excitement or interest to what we're saying. They're like plain, ordinary bricks in a wall, not the shiny, sparkly ones that make things stand out.
Improving your English vocabulary is the first step in improving your overall English level. Substituting boring words would make you sound more professional and advanced while trying to communicate in English.

Great video on alternative words, one bit of advice I’d give a language learner is to make sure they fully understand the alternative as that is one massive give away of whether someone is a language learner or a native speaker, sometimes it’s better to use the “boring” word instead 😊

Actually, I think these types of vocabulary lessons are great, which include alternative ways for you to express your ideas in a better and natural way, that is, "say it another way" with more daily advanced words and expressions, that books and face- to- face teaching just don't take into account, different from grammar that is not prone to so many changes as happens to vocabulary, so we'd better go on learning such kind of topics you've been working on so far.
