I met him at the Great Mountains Music Festival in So. Korea years ago and was so moved by his chamber music playing. Over two administrations I was School Director and heard him as much as I desired!🥰🥂🎶

Great violin playing for Brahms, agreed. There must be so many great violinists who like him are relatively unknown. On my mobile with this video, the sound and vision are not perfectly synchronised. And ads interrupted the music.

Brovtsyn meets the requirement of rich & weighty tone, expressive playing and emotional depth, that Brahms asks for. Better Brahms playing than most of the Big Name violinists.

This is wonderful. No uncontrolled "quiver" in his vibrato and a clear tone that blends well with the piano. I totally agree that the piano lid should be open. For the audience, this is great when the violinist is oh so fine. However, a 9ft piano does not belong in such violin, flute, clarinet, etc... sonatas. Concert halls should have smaller delicate instruments which also have a full dynamic range without detracting from the soloist. The audio engineers should also study "signal theory" and tone back the harshness with fine ribbon and tube microphones and better cables. This could have been the best ever.
