Boris Collardi speaks for the first time since his departure from Julius Baer

It was one the biggest shakeups in the Swiss banking industry. Boris Collardi quit his post as CEO of Julius Baer after nearly a decade at the helm. Collardi, one of the world’s youngest and most successful bank CEO’s, will be joining rival Pictet as Partner later this year. To say it was a watercooler topic in financial offices around the world, would be an understatement. Under his nearly 10-year leadership, Julius Baer more than doubled in size - both in assets under management and in numbers of employees. Hannah Wise sat down with him to talk about where the Swiss banking industry is heading and life after Julius Baer.

What I do not understand is that he’s saying blockchain is the future and then on bitcoin he says it’s not transparent???? Bitcoin is based on blockchain. how does these correlated statements make sense? Please can somebody explain that to me. Thank you

I guess banks are more interested in blockchain as a technology and building / managing their own private blockchains in order to optimize their operational processes. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency which is completely out of their control and is not going to help them in this regard.
