Still trying to find the solution for setting up the nodes in Davinci Resolve. There are a couple Alembic tutorials such as this but not one simple explanation EASY to understand how to set up the nodes in Davinci Resolve to be able to track with powermesh. In the fusion panel. I work with Mocha Pro powermesh in AE no problem but desperately need to do it in Davinci. My quest continues. Thank You :)

There is a Fusion workflow in the user manual : borisfx.com/support/documentation/mocha/8.0.0/#powermesh Search "Unwarp/Rewarp Workflow in Node-based workflow (Nuke/Fusion/Silhouette/Flame)" You can refine this so that only the new elements are warped, and merge these over the original footage. Hope that helps.

"PowerMesh dense tracking data can be exported to Adobe After Effects (via Nulls)" HOW?????
@BorisFXco3 жыл бұрын
In After Effects, go to the Effects Controls and look at the Mocha Pro plug-in parameters. Open up PowerMesh at the bottom and click on the Create Nulls button. You will then get a window pop up with all your layers. Select the layer with the PowerMesh you want to use and make sure that the cog is on. Hit OK and you will have your Nulls. You can then connect them to other layers and effects in the normal way.

If you know tell me plese. Why when I insterting PNG image as "insert clip' I do not see it? I can see inserted "mocha" logo. But not my png... Any idea?
@BorisFXco3 жыл бұрын
PNG files are supported. Is it RGB? Is there something unusual about its alpha channel? What bit depth is it?

I was wondering, this does not create a real 3d model but a 2d projection, is there any way to capture depth? using external tracking or something.
@BorisFXco3 жыл бұрын
Not as yet, no. It is certainly something we understand the need for.

@@BorisFXco Thanks, for answering, I was trying to track a hand so that added objects create shadows, should I then use multiple planes, or this is usually tackled by just hand matching a model with the footage? I'm sorry for asking. thanks again
@BorisFXco3 жыл бұрын
There are lots of ways of tackling this type of problem. You can use a Displacer deformer to turn your 2d projection into 3d with a rough depth map. Or you can go the other way and do a 3D object track on the hand. Or the manual approach, like you're suggesting. We don't have an easy resource to point to, I'm afraid. But I will make sure it is on the list for future tutorials.

the only way youre going to get a true 3d depth model (z plane depth info) is to use (or hack) the new iPhone or similar tech with a lidar scanner. im currently experimenting with shooting like this and using the 3d depth data but its difficult because for example, with the iPhone you need to literally move around and scans still items from different positions (sort of like if you were spray painting something nailed down). if you shoot straight on with a lidar scanner you WILL get depth information, but only from the cameras point of view. like shining a light on an object, it wont light from the sides or behind.. unless you want to buy a 70 thousand dollar multi camera lidar scanner.. or you could get a job at ILM :).

I have mocha pro standalone. Can not find information how to alpy alembic mesh data from mocha to aftereffects!! I have plugin in aftereffects, but there is mocha pro without mesh..
@BorisFXco3 жыл бұрын
You cannot use alembic in After Effects. It doesn't support that format. Mocha AE is a lite version that is bundled with After Effects and doesn't have any PowerMesh features. For more information about workflows with Mocha Pro Standalone, check out the manual (borisfx.com/support/documentation/mocha/8.0.0/#_warp_mapping_workflow) and search for "Unwarp/Rewarp Workflow in the Standalone Application"

@@BorisFXco I have Mocha Pro: Standalone Application + Multi-Host Plug-ins.. So, I can not use shape tracking in aftereffects? I should buy new plug-in for AE?
@BorisFXco3 жыл бұрын
If you have the multi-host plugins license, then just make sure you add the Mocha Pro plugin in After Effects and not Mocha AE. Remember, if you have saved the project in Mocha Standalone, you can open that project in the Mocha Pro plug-in too. Use the Warp Mapping for AE workflow found in the manual or here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2TKc6qCaMmHeKs

@@edh615 kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXfSYaWhn66qjLc This may help!
@flipnap21123 жыл бұрын
@@ukmonk if youre in the CG world you can already render out separate passes, including matte. if its an entire render (like an all CG robot into live action) you need to track the real world camera movement from the footage (if its a simple pan left and right, a simple planar tracker would do). if its a complicated camera movement like walking around a subject you'd need to do a 3d camera track in the compositing program, then bring that generated camera data into the 3d program. then either render the final from the 3d program, or render out the 3d animation (using your tracked camera data) and bring the rendered images with an alpha back into your compositing program and your 3d rendered object will match the real world camera. many people jump between multiple programs to accomplish this task.

u have any tutorials for maya plz
@BorisFXco3 жыл бұрын
Not currently. The Alembic import for Maya should be similar to the other 3D apps shown in this video. See the Maya documentation for full details about their Alembic import options.
