Exactly. It's not exactly controversial to say that Boris is a liar and hypocrite and shouldn't have had that party when it's what middle England is saying anyway. I regard it as another distraction because, as you say, it takes attention from the fact that the rules were completely unnecessary and nothing to do with a supposed obligate intracellular parasite whatsoever. All this safe cynicism from the public is aggravating. I could have done with hearing a bit more cynicism at the time, but most people were virtue-signalling with their masks, "stay safe"s, social distancing, cheering on Captain Tom, and generally lapping up all the feel-good, pseudo-scientific propaganda when it was the in-thing to do so. I can't say I'm impressed with Lydon here. I have heard him suggest that there was a political reason for lockdown. It's a pity he didn't say that here because if he had, I might see what all the fuss is about. It would be a statement of what was incredibly obvious right from the start of this nonsense, so not particularly exciting in that sense. But people would be hearing it on TV from someone whose opinions are taken seriously by a lot of people.

@@vivienne2250 I saw the WEF connection in March 2020 after watching their 4ir video, but I think they're more like tools than the ultimate string-pullers now. It's not easy peeling back the onion and understanding all the nuances, and I'm not entirely convinced that anyone does even among the 'elites'.. I think it's always a case of honing in on the truth rather than an abrupt awakening. However, I do think Russia's severing of links with the West and strengthening of links with the rest of the BRICS nations has thrown a spanner in the works and I don't think it's all going according to plan at all. That said, I do of course realise that the BRICS nations aren't perfect themselves. It's complicated, and I wish KZbin's algorithm wasn't so aggressive because it puts me off going into detail knowing there's a good chance that it'll all be a waste of time and effort.

PiL started in the late 70s with songs like Public Image and Pop Tones... Rise came out in the mid 80s. So, you are absolutely correct the "new band" is not really "new" at all. FYI - PiLs performance in So Cal. a few weeks ago was a blast! It was a short set cause it was a festival, but really wish I could see them in full concert.
