I was lucky to see this performance in person and it was one of the most beautiful concerts I ever witnessed. Tears were rolling down my cheeks, it was overwhelming and emotional, pure joy! I will never forget this evening. The endless applause for the modest pianist was hugely deserved!

I wonder if it would be okay for a performer to use the right hand, or both hands, to play this. I mean, it's not a talent show - the music is what's important.

@KneeJerkish The composer wrote the concert in hommage to his friend and pianist Paul Wittgenstein who lost his right hand on the front during the first world war.

No. That completely defeats the purpose of the piece, especially in a performance. It would be quite ironic. In a recording, you could debate this, but the fun comes from only using the left hand
