Borla Exhaust and Headers 5.7 Hemi Jeep

Custom exhaust with ARH long-tube headers and Borla XR-1 Multicore muffler on my Jeep. I ditched the Corsa muffler (discontinued) in favor of this Borla XR-1 #400372, and I have never been happier with any of my exhaust systems. The WK Grand Cherokee is notorious for drone issues with aftermarket exhausts. However, this setup actually drones LESS THAN CORSA at highway speeds, while being louder and more aggressive under heavy throttle for less than 1/3 the cost!

Just a warning, the headers aren't cheap. I have a 09 jeep grand Cherokee limited 5.7 hemi & my Cadillac converter is bad, i also need a new exhaust, what would u recommend i do? I like the sound of the jeep in this video & i like one with a flowmaster 44 or something like that too.. i know nothing about exhaust or Cadillac converters though?

@@countrycovers7055 How much do you want to spend? Magnaflow sells a new y-pipe with the catalytic converters already in place. And Borla is my #1 choice for mufflers, followed by Dynomax, Jones/Aero turbine mufflers, and Carven. I wouldn't personally recommend Flowmaster unless you go with the FlowFX or Hushpower Pro Series product lines.

I don't have a link but I can break it down for you. - ACDelco front coil springs. - Koni FSD Special Active front and rear shocks/struts. - BWoody sway bar end links. - SRT rear sway bar. - Moog polyurethane sway bar bushings. It handles very well and the ride is definitely firm but not harsh. Bilstein 4600 series is another good option for shocks and struts if you can't find Koni.

Thank you! I won't be lowering it because I use it in the snow and for light offroading. I am using a combination of SRT and BWoody suspension parts to make it handle nicely though.

Hi Sir, who did the header install? I got broken manifold bolts, but don't see the space to get them out. It's tight AF down there.

I paid my mechanic to do it. The A/C compressor had to come off, as well as the front wheels and fender liners. It helps to have two people. I have installed longtube headers before but the WK Grand Cherokee is especially cramped.

I literally have the same jeep almost but it's silver with the long tube headers and I'm getting my exhaust built on Tuesday and am looking for someone to tune it, the best possible for my 💵 I was wandering what the process was to get yours tuned? Via email?

My tuner is Ryan Hogan aka Flyin' Ryan Performance. He's the best in the business. He sent me the file via email and I used HP Tuners to load the tune. Unfortunately, he is backlogged quite a bit right now due to high demand so it would take you a couple weeks to get your tune from him. He has a Facebook page (probably the easiest way to contact him), his email is [e-mail] and www.frptuning.com is his website. He'll also probably recommend switching to a one step colder NGK iridium plug to avoid any chance of detonation on lower octane fuel.

@@CBlasser really appreciate all the information I get my exhaust put on tomorrow I really hope it sounds as good as yours does and Ive have to drive it open headers sadly to exhaust shop and already have the computer def doesn't like it, but when you say detonation? You mean the motor has a chance of detonating itself on lower octane gas? Or you talk about spark detonation in the cylinder?

I don't have the exact figures as I've never had it on a dyno. But I'm sure it makes an honest 400 horsepower at the crank based on its 5.4 second 0-60 time.

I have a question. So what’s your setup? You have the Long tube Headers, and do you just have the borla muffler with a resonator delete and custom tip?

The tip and the exhaust pipe itself are reused from the Corsa system that I had previously. I just had to cut and bend a new piece of pipe to make up for the shorter Borla muffler, and use a new flange where it bolts to the headers. There is no resonator in my setup.

I do not like straight pipe exhausts. You need a muffler to attenuate the undesirable frequencies and create a refined tone.

@@Ghost-nq1vv It will definitely sound better with mufflers. The right muffler will produce a sharper, more focused exhaust tone that's easier to hear than a straight pipe, even if it is technically slightly quieter.

Thanks! Wheels are 17x8 SRT Spider Monkey replicas- OE Creations 137S. Tires are 255/65R17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W. I ordered my wheels and tires from Extreme Customs and they mounted, balanced, and shipped them for free.
