Born in the Eighties - A Short Story About A Barn Find Vintage Honda Motorcycle

Although vintage bikes all have their own quirks, they sure are a lot of fun to ride. And that is what its all about. For Brandon his 81 Honda XL500S brings him back to a simpler time one before computers took over the world. He is originally from Oregon (where he found the bike in a barn), and has recently been added to the Smith and Rogue Team here in Montana.

I owned a 1983 TT600 Yamaha single cylinder trail bike and loved it until it got stolen 😢 I noticed you having difficulty in kick starting the XL does it have a decompressor that still works? Life in the 80s like the bikes of that era was alot simpler, devoid of all the modern day hi tech 😅

Hey @@Gmac237 it does have the decompressor and makes a huge difference! Finding that top dead center can be a little tricky but when you do it fires right up! Couldn't agree more so nice to be able to actually tinker on your bike w/o needing a computer science degree.
