George is still very young. I think young kids associate the word "twin" with 2 brothers or 2 sisters who look the same and of course are the same gender. As he grows up he will realise there are also fraternal with one child a boy and the other a girl. Also he is struggling with allot of emotional turmoil and confusion. Kids deal with this through anger and tantrums. He still needs to learn how to regulate these emotions like every child his age.
@jen28044 жыл бұрын
Parent. There is no dad. He walked out. George is angry on multiple levels and it hurts. Having a parent abandon you is hard enough, feeling uncomfortable in your own body is hard enough, and having a constant reminder that your sister is everything everyone wants you to be is hard enough. George has no outlet. Mom is doing the best she can. George also got teased at his old school. Kids his age have ended their lives being bullied. He desperately needs an outlet, probably therapy, but he's not intentionally being nasty. He's hurting.

These parents are accepting of the child's gender identity. But they are also encouraging it. I think that, if it is really necessary for the child's well-being, then they should let the boy live as a girl ... but they shouldn't encourage it ... just look the other way and let it be ... dont make an issue out of it ... just behave as if it isn't anything to notice, like it is "normal." By something like doing the child's nails, they are showing the child that it is okay and they are encouraging it and praising it and enforcing it... and the child sees that he/she will get extra attention this way, and maybe will get less attention if he/she decides to go back to the birth gender.

This is my experience with transgender feelings: Up until about age 19 (started at around age 6) i always wanted to be a boy. I loved how free they seemed, and not so many female stereotypes and makeup, dressing up, cliques, etc. I felt i was a boy because i loved video games (my dad loves video games), and was very into music of all kinds and dressed as a boy and acted like one (i was very rough and playful and a goof ball as most kids were) but i felt different. I was called a tomboy, and i referred to myself as that. One day my dad took me to a video game store and i walked in with my hair tucked into a ball cap (trying to pass as a boy) and i was trying to act all cool and i ended up just embarrassing my dad LOL. I called myself Jimmy, and sometimes i would walk around the neighborhood with my friends with a boombox on my shoulder playing some boy like songs, tryna be cool like a boy. this was in the early 2000s. Now I'm 28, and have been struggling so much with my identity. Always felt like a man inside. Even now I just always feel like a man trapped in a female body. However, I learned that I have full female hormones and body and im completely female in all scientific ways. I have been doing my best to accept myself for who i truly am, and that is a boyish girl. I'm married to a man that i truly truly love, but i still have thoughts of women many times. I identify as a woman, with a very masculine brain (there are other reasons i feel like this: very dominant personality, go-getter, charming, adventurous, independent, aggressive), but i have noticed with time that i have very feminine aspects too, like the nurturing, loving, generous, care-giving, selfless sides. All I want to do is please people. Sometimes I can't tell if how I'm feeling is truly how I'm feeling or how society expects its citizens to be in order to function successfully in society. For the record i have my bachelor's in health and rehabilitation sciences with a minor in integrative medicine. Nothing special (sorry im self-deprecating all the time) but at least I have some knowledge under my belt.

This is a recent, very pernicious cultural conception stemming from warmongering monarchies, that has no scientific validity nor previous historical precedent (prior to that the entire tribe raised kids, and warmongering dominating aggression behaviour was not seen as a good thing rather as antisocial). Whereas George is just being loud about wanting everything boy they don't actually use the word to relate to themselves, they were awkward when Niki (who was absolutely brilliant) said he was trans too, but then again this documentary is just a snapshot of their lives we don't know what goes on when the cameras aren't their. But from this snapshot George and his sister Jasmin need therapy together and apart. George needs help to figure out who they are ( trans or gender fluid). No, identical twins are always the same *SEX*, not gender. There are fraternal twins. Like, Dipper from Gravity Falls. I actually met a pair of fraternal twins. Actually, if they pulled a little gender bending, they could look like each other. I could just sense the fact they were twins.

My heart is breaking over the twins. George and Jazz both need counseling. In order to make George comfortable, Jazz is neglected. It broke my heart when she grabbed her chair and went to the corner and cried. I understand he doesn't want to remember being a girl, but it is not ok to treat his sister like that. She lost her sister, and her now brother hates her. If she doesn't get help she will begin to have problems and feel unimportant and not loved. I know the mom is in a hard spot, but George needs to learn it's OK to be a boy, but not ok to treat his sister that way. He threatened to kill her. The way he treats her im scared he may try something one day.

When a kid says I wanna kill my sibling , you explain to them why they can’t say that. And you repeat it, until they get it. Stop babying kids, and start raising them.

I think their (George) main problem was they never liked being a twin, they are acting out against their sister because they can't cope with society seeing them (both twins) as the same person. This is the deep root problem that needs to be addressed. Because their behaviour towards their sister is down right out of order, it is teaching George that they can treat people however they want and teaching the sister that she can and should be used as a doormat that her feelings don't matter and she should always yield. I used they\their pronouns for George because I don't think they know who they are yet. Whereas Paddy is a she to her core.

I'm always conflicted with these types of things. I feel like the parents have a huge influence on children. Kids are like "I like pink so I must be a girl cause only girls like pink". Kids should be taught it's okay to like the things you do, it doesn't automatically make you a boy or a girl. However I'm against parents making permanent decision for their kids. I was a boyish kid. I cried and pouted when I was forced to put on a dress. My mother tried to encourage me to play with dolls but I refused to play with them. I never liked playing with girls at school, I'd only hang out with the guys. BUT! I am an adult now and I'm super glad my parents didn't turn me into a boy. I still act a bit like a guy but I am 100% a women. Getting a sex change or doing things that will result in permanent changes to your body should only be done once the child is an adult and they are sure that's what they want
@hyperplaguerat4 жыл бұрын
They don't do permanent procedures on them as kids. When kids transition they wear the clothes and hair that fits their personality. They might use puberty blockers, but that's not irreversible and gives them even more time to think about the decision.
@bluetiger24684 жыл бұрын
@@hyperplaguerat I just think kids should be kids. Kids should not have to worry about telling their friends they're trans. They are kids and they're minds are still developing. They look to their parents for guidance. And if their parents are guiding them down this path, they will be more willing to go through with it even if that's not what they want. Parents can be influencing them without even know it. But if you think about all of this stuff too much, it can be super complicated. I don't have children so I don't know what the parents are going through. All I can use is my own experiences.

@@bluetiger2468 to me they are being kids. You didn’t ask or feel like a boy. Most likely why your parents didn’t force you to be one. I was also tomboyish, wore boy clothes, shoes, played sports ect. But always enjoyed being a girl. That’s the difference. If society wasn’t so hung up one what’s in between someone’s legs and who they have sex with, these kids wouldn’t need to think about being bullied for wanting to be themselves. I wonder if George isn't misdiagnosed and he has some underlying issue with women in general and thats why he is so aggressive to his sister and rejects his biological sex. This seems more like a trauma reaction because it seems to be more about women than his gender. Regardless, that child needs a therapist that deals outside of the suspected gender dysphoria. Its because it's a phase alot of times. Sometimes kids think they want to be the opposite gender but they don't have the mental capacity to make adult decisions about being a different gender. I am a mother of 2 daughters biological daughters. I'm raising them as the gender they were born with. If my daughters want to play with trucks and boy stuff that's cool but it doesn't make them trans

The parents favor George over his twin sister Jasmine...George gets sympathetic attention, and Jasmine cries in the corner and is ignored. There is an old expression - - "The squeaky wheel gets the oil." - - that means that the one who makes the most "noise" gets all of the attention. Parents are supposed to treat children equally, no matter what. If Jasmine didnt like the fact that George identifies as a boy, and then she told George, "I want to kill you," the parents would not tolerate it, because it is bullying. But when George bullies Jasmine and tells her, "I want to kill you", they do nothing. Jasmine is hurting ... she has lost her twin ... her twin treats her horribly ... so, she is mourning the loss of her twin and is being bullied by her brother. The mother was so concerned that George should have a happy future... but she isn't concerned about Jasmine's happy future. The relationship between twins is supposedly the most close relationship that any two people can have ... identical twins share the same DNA and have a bond since the womb ... just because George rejects this, does not mean that Jasmine does. If George was not trans, and was either a boy or a girl, this behavior would not be tolerated. Just because George is trans does not mean that he doesn't need discipline, just like every other child. It seems that the parents are afraid to discipline George ... and the question is why ... and why the show didnt address this.

Nobody. I worked at a kindergarten back in 2005 and there was a 4 y.o. boy who thought he was a girl, unlike his identical twin brother. He was girlier than any of the girls in his class. When he turned 5 he finally did realize he was a boy (physically) but told me he wanted to be a girl and felt like a girl. His parents just let him play with whatever he wanted, but always dressed him as a boy and didn’t encourage him to be a girl.
@saoirse29635 ай бұрын
@@lumenpierce8583 And then he grew up and realized he is not a girl after all. Many boys who likes to play with "girls toys" think that means they are girls. This is how kids think, very black and white, magical thinking, their brain is not developed, their thinking is simplistic. Our society forgot how kids are and that's really frightening. There have always been boys who likes "girls things" and to "act like a girl" and there have always girls who likes "boys things" and to "act like a boy". Many of them grow up to be gay. Some aren't. It doesn't make them trans. Leave these kids alone. Let them go through their natural puberty in peace.

38:42 The mom talks about "girlie days", that's so odd; they seem really fixated on gender roles. That was never a thing in my family, we were just people and nobody cared about our gender. I was a girl that climbed trees a lot, caught frogs and leeches, hated Barbie dolls, makeup, dresses and the color pink, but liked felling trees and my dad let me climb the high ladder to clean the rain pipe, or cut wild boars into pieces. It was a good childhood without any stupid roles. Just let them be humans! A boy in our school had Barbie dolls, My Little Pony and more pink toys and we never had a problem with it. It simply wasn't important what you were - most of my friends were boys, but who cares! During puberty I had problems with developing a feminine body (maybe due to my light autism), but came to terms with it over time. Fact is that all these trans kids seem to be extremely fixated on gender roles and I wonder where that came from.

It's so strange to me how people see everything as gendered now, we both did the same and I grew up to be a teenage girl and then a woman and he a teenage boy and then a man, no problems, no "gender dysphoria", no nothing. Let your kids be kids and stop gender everything, kids like what they like.

Maybe George only wants to be a boy, because he has a problem with being an identical twin sibling. In another documentary someone became transgender after being sexually abused, so they wanted to have the other sex. I am an identical twin and we had much problems with each other. We did not feel individual, we were often not treated as individuals and fighted aginst each other in an insane way. You can get deep psychological problems, when you cannot deal with that. And apparently he hates his sister. I think they should see a therapist, the sooner the better.

I think that George isn’t associating being a twin as being a girl but the other way around. I think the reason George didn’t want to wear that dress was because he wanted his own identity and to not be a twin. I think as a young child that manifested as being transgender. I feel like if I was his mom I would have taken him to therapy before just saying okay you’re a boy. That’s not to say he’s certainly not truly a boy in his heart but it feels like there is much more going on and at the very least he is having a hard time accepting himself and his relationship with his sister is suffering. At her expense nonetheless.
