Born into war: Babies are an unstoppable force in Gaza

At Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza, around 30 to 40 babies are born each day in the region’s sole maternity ward. Islam Al-Qanou arrived at the hospital nine months pregnant and completely alone. As she braces for emergency surgery, the mother of nine confronts the harsh reality of bringing a new life into a war zone ravaged by bombing, homelessness and devastation.

She's already had nine children and got pregnant again after the war has started. The older siblings are skinny, unkempt and malnourished. There may not be enough resources (food, medicine, vaccines, clothing, diapers etc.) to care for this baby properly. This is irresponsibility at its finest. I relate a lot to this my baby looked exactly like that at birth, and cried like that. I lost weight compared to what I was before and there was inflation a coup attempt and a lot of work, I worked to my very last day of pregnancy and wish I could stay in that state of pregnancy forever its beautiful. The hospital was always closed due to protests with 1-2 nurses when I went through my hemorraghe and also when he stopped moving. And I delivered on a sunday near the holidays. Bless that baby

Spending the pregnancy during war and then Living in a tent with a newborn. It's unimaginable pain. They don't even have a bed or clean water, or access to basic basic things. Have never seen such strong women.
