Very few adults could sing Billie Holiday the way this little 7 year old managed to do it. There is so much character in that vocal. To me this performance is the one that really shows how deep it runs in her. The music has just always been in her. It's great that we are here to witness it as it come out so beautifully. This was the beginning, and AGT is the current, and there are over 100 amazing performances in between... but just think, she turns 14 today. This young lady is just getting started! I can't wait to see what the future brings for her.

Well done guys. The song Gloomy Sunday is well over one hundred years old and was originally known as the Hungarian Suicide song. A very very dark song. What I find so impressive about her is that SHE decided at three that she had a talent and wanted to show the world. SHE asked her mom to go and audition for Simon. SHE chose her songs. This angel knows exactly what she is doing and simply gets up in the morning and fearlessly works toward her goal.

After this first round was done, for the next round they all had to sing acappela and Angelina sang another Billy Holiday song called "i'm a fool to want you ", this was that good that the two male judges teared up and NONE of them could speak, so please take a look at this even if you don't react to it, but i think you will!!! That wasn't the first audition, that was the second audition. She first sang 'I'm A Fool To Want You'. She did that song acapella, without a start note from the piano or a pitch-pipe. It is amazing. An adult with years of experience would have trouble keeping the key and the beat going, Angelina never hits a sour note, or loses the beat. Like i said an adult would have a difficult time keeping everything going in the same direction, she sings it like a pro. SHE IS 7 YEARS OLD!!!! Listen to that performance over and over and you will be as amazed at the 10th time you hear it as you will be the first time. Thank you both for reacting to this super-star in the making.

What is so incredible about this is her delivery of the song as it requires so much emotion to sell the lyrics. Gloomy Sunday is a Hungarian song about tragic and unexpected death of a true love. It tells of the heatbreak and the wish to be with them and thoughts of joining them. It is this single line that earned it the nickname "The Hungarian Suicide Song" as it was erroneously blamed for a rash of suicides in the 1930's that could more likely be attributed to the great depression. The Jazz icon Billie Holiday really popularized this song with her version in 1941. If you want to know what that sounds like, little Angelina just channeled her soul while singing that.

@@gordowg1wg145 That's why, if you notice the fourth judge asked her a very legitimate question: "Do you know what the song is all about" and she mumbled back " It is about a sad Sunday" for which the judge answered "It is. And I really felt about the sad Sunday". He was diplomatic, but I hope the message reached the parents of Angelina very well. She understood superficially that it was a sad song, but she really, thankfully, did not understand the full meaning of the suicidal song. She is 7 after all, and English is not her first language. She's just uttering the words without feeling . She didn't know. She was a puppet. But the parents knew and that's the issue. Songs are not just songs. This one is a suicidal song. This should have been off-limits for a 7 year old innocent kid like her. @@gordowg1wg145 I have personally experienced a similar incident. I knew a family who's daughter was very gifted and used to sing semi professionally. She was an Angelina-like character just 10 years old. She was invited to a church to sing three tunes of her choice. She picked two gospel songs and the third one was her personal choice of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah". I asked the little girl why did she pick this. She said because I like the tune and it suits my voice. Then I turned to the mother and asked her, you should take a deeper look before this passes in the repertoire to be sung in church. I also told her I don't like the song in general. It was an easy way out. I looove the song, but I didn't want the girl to sing it, that's all. She answers carelessly: I know it's a "worldly" song, but at least the title is "religious".... and refused to turn her daughter down and it stayed part of the 10-year old's girl's singing repertoire the following week. I was cordially invited as a friend of the family to attend the collective concert where she would appear. And it was a free ticket worth 20 dollars. I gave her some flimsy excuse that I had pre-planned engagement and I couldn't attend. The truth of the matter is that I couldn't bear her singing the song at such a young age, and particularly at a church. Only later did I Iearn that the priest had refused to schedule the third song. The following day, the mother calls me and says: "Why did you not clearly tell me what you meant. You were vague, she said. But had you told me clearly, I would have taken a wiser decision" English isn't her first language either. In fact her English vocabulary was near a 100 words that's all. The basic stuff you see... My point: Songs are not just some pretty well-crufted tunes. They are profound and must be rated just like films. G, R, parental guidance etc

But seriously, we absolutely adore the voice. But if she is going to do covers, and that's all she gonna do, what a shame. When you have such a good voice, take a pause, don't do any covers for a while and contact some songwriters to offer you 4-5 songs for an EP of originals. Contact a good studio manager and some musicians and record things of your own. Try writing a song, if you can, although it is not necessary really that you write them yourself. Many singers never write songs, but they rely on good songwriters. Her own songs may be less quality then the covers she does, but they are her songs. Justin Bieber when he started he made so many adorable covers and got fame. Then the manager who signed him, Scooter Braun, stopped him and said no more videos. Wait a few months and you do your own songs. That's the way to go for Angelina Jordan . == Added later after a comment by Ray Pauley. Actually I stand corrected for Angelina Jordan did have some songs that are her own sometimes even written by her. @@raypauley6280 So how about offering us links to some of her own songs Ray. This is a great opportunity for everybody. I am fed up of the covers. All we hear is how great her voice is. Just one link from her own songs would give a completely new picture. Even if they are in Norwegian, I don't mind. I love Norwegian. It would be so great to listen to some of those for a change. Now is the great opportunity as any. Perhaps they would be more appropriate to her age than this song "Gloomy Sunday" about suicide sung at the age of seven and so callously allowed to pass. Thank God for the fourth judge who dared to defy the logic of the first three judges and politely questioned her about what she was singing. I know it was a message to her parents. But still.

@@raypauley6280 I was just doing solid suggestion to her. No artist can go on covers. Perhaps you could enlighten us and put here links to some of her own songs instead of just criticizing. In fact I will do some research myself based on your comments to me. And I do apologize for my lack of sensitivity. I should have done some research before writing what I wrote.

I thought he wasn't his son, but because he danced like him, Michael Jackson took him in and he became part of the family, but not actually his son... Who knows, but I wouldn't think so, even tho it could seem like that. Respect how loyal Omer, was it his name.. Omer Bhatti, or something.. He is also an old soul with much empathy, creativity, loyalty.. Think he's very kind and good person.
