Oh people just stop ranting and raving about how you feel about little things in this video...this is a play version of the movie that was performed in front of a camera....that is why its called grease live...as a person who has taken theater classes myself I have learned and was taught that if someone wants to make a play version of a movie they are supposed to add different stuff to the production in order to make it their own...that is what makes it different...so what if Sandy dances in the front all the time? It was an idea of the director that he decided to stick with and obviously people liked it...she may not have danced with Danny as much in the movie no but that's what makes it likeable and different for this version is the director added something different by putting that in there...and the same with cha cha where the director added some stuff to her in order to make it their own...sorry people but that is just how the production world works...you gotta make stuff of your own even if it's a redo of a movie or play or something....so yeah if you wanna rant and rave about it go ahead but have fun being miserable

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed this production, I will forever be mad that this Cha Cha was not nearly as a good a dancer as she was supposed to be. She was okay lol.

This Danny was not either. In the original Travolta was better than Olvia. They danced side by side or they showcased him. Here this sandy is always in the front...because she out dances him.

@@kalebchavez3279 This version took a combo of the movie and stage versions and mixed them together. In the stage version Sandy does not attend the dance, the second act opens with her alone at home singing "It's Raining on Prom Night". So at the dance, Rizzo goes with Danny and Kenickie goes with Cha Cha. During a dance routine Danny and Cha Cha end up together and win the contest. She is supposed to outshine Sandy, as they did in the movie, but unlike Olivia Newton John, who was a singer who learned some dance steps Julianne Hough is a top rated dancer so it would be hard to find someone to outshine her, so they changed the plot a little for that fact.

When Danny and Sandy are dancing in the middle of the dance floor, if you look in the back of them you can see Rizzo is talking to the cameraman and I think she was telling the cameraman to go at a suitable angle to face the camera towards Danny and Sandy and told cha cha to dance with Danny after Sandy ran away.

My guess is she's jealous of Sandy and Danny and wanted to show Sandy that Danny isn't worth it - ie not running off camera with her and dancing with Cha Cha when he could've easily left the dance floor. Also to show he lied about how he knew Cha Cha

In the movie Sonny is the one who causes the drama but it's because he's drunk. On TV there's a law that prohibits drinking on camera. So for this version they had to change the script and gave it to Rizzo. I guess they gave it to Rizzo since she's sarcastic and blunt.

I didn’t see Sonny or Marty on this scene. And Cha-Cha looked pathetic to me. I could see and figure out who was Danny and Sandy, and Jan and Putzie, and Frenchy and Doody, and Rizzo and Balmundo, and Kenickie-and Vince Spontaine. This scene was one of the best imitations of the Hand Jive scene in Grease, but it ended differently. By watching the scene, you take it that Cha-Cha must have said or done something to intimidate or scare Sandy. But in the real movie, Rizzo had already left before Sandy. So . . .

You realize how slick and smooth John Travolta was, when someone tries to emulate him. This version looks so forced, unauthentic and rigid.

He’s no Travolta either in dancing or charisma. The choreography could have been much better. But then we Italians are hard to equal.

Ok, on the one hand Sandy should've told Danny about her lying to her parents about where she was that night and saying that was why she couldn't seen on tv (don't know if the T-Birds and Pink Ladies would've laughed at her for having such strict parents or would've said 'maybe I underestimated you' when they found out she successfully lied to her parents and snuck out of the house - though in both the movie and this live filmed performance I thought that for all of Danny's concerns about his image the T-Birds didn't seem to have an issue with him going out with Sandy), but on the other hand Danny could've just followed Sandy into the crowd and not danced with Cha-Cha when she started dancing with him.

After just watching Olivia Newton John and John Travolta actually do this from grease. This looks like 5 year olds dancing this was really sad in comparison. None of them moved like they did in the movie!
