I have so many versions, it’s hard to recommend just one! But I would suggest any of the following - Casals (obviously!) David Watkin, Pierre Fournier, Heinrich Schiff, Jean-Guihen Queryas, Tortelier, Isserlis, Wang… but avoid Wispelwey (sorry!), he is just unbelievably mannered!!

After listening to Casals, all the rest sound pale. The rushed recordings are unlistenable
