I've listened to this performance probably a hundred times now. I'm writing my term paper about the variations within this movement and how it relates to Schubert's Death and the Maiden song, op. 7 no. 3. It hasn't gotten old yet, not even a little bit. Especially the violin's melody in the E-flat section of the first variation. When it hits the high D-flat, i lose it every time.
