It is ludicrous to compare the merits of two people with differing skill sets and backgrounds, one in a legal domain and the other in a science lab, working under two different atmospheres for talent applications. One would have surmised that comparisons are apt among those practictising in the same discipline, under similar circumstances, otherwise conclusions get warped by bias. The Jammeh era was defined by a dictator who implemented the combination of force, unsupervised pain infliction, and the everpresence of acidic fear as the components of a structural repression aimed to co-opt , bully, harass, torture, maim, kill those designated as enemies of the state. The politico - military direction of government maintenance Yahya adopted was carbon-copied from the methods of repressive right-wing military dictatorships of Latin American top brass rulers in the latter part of the 20th century and today, in Brazil for example. Over the span of twenty years, Junkung Jammeh managed The Gambia with a ruthless efficiency that did not tolerate dissention. It is no one else that the ability of any of the legal profession of the said country should be compared to but to the clever contrivances of Yahya Jammeh, who understood that the mind has a threshold of pain before resistance melts.
