Let’s keep the Boruto reactions going, so much hype. Boruto’s one of the best new gen characters, he’s so unique and has such great development throughout the series. They did mourn for Mugino but in the midst of battle they can’t do so for long and need to carry out their mission, that’s why Boruto teared up and said he knows that “but it’s too much for him”. Also Mugino compared to someone like Asuma is not a fair comparison as Asuma was much more directly involved with the story. The Ninja tools and science have been and are the main focus of the story as it’s portraying the realistic aspects of our world and whether technology is good or bad depends on how you use it. Ao was selfish but also it makes sense as he was and old shinobi and war veteran, you’ve got to remember he was born in the mist, home of the bloodiest village of Shinobi back in those days. The present day village is another world compared to how it was back then, it’s not a world Ao is comfortable living on in when he lost so much. You can’t compare someone as unique as Guy as their circumstances are completely different. Also Ao before his change was the right hand man of Mei Terumi (5th Mizukage) he was a top level shinobi, who also obtained a Byakugan.

1. Boruto's shadow clones are able to take more damage before disappearing than Naruto's could, I think it's because he only can make 4 of them they're more sturdy. 2. The reason why there isn't much grieving for Mugino is because none of that backstory happened in the manga. He was just a random shinobi who was on a mission with Konohamaru. 3. The anime changed the end of the fight. In the manga Boruto used the Chakra Blade to cut Ao's arm and leg off instead of hitting him with the rasengan. Kind of wished they kept that in.

Ao doesn't know Kara's true goals because he's only an Outer. Kashin Koji, on the other hand, does because he's an Inner. Ao also isn't exactly a good person, and in fact never was. He's from the Bloody Mist era of the Hidden Mist, and his entire life revolved around being a shinobi. Hell, he even somehow managed to steal a Byakugan. When he lost the ability to be a shinobi, he also lost his purpose in life. Kara took advantage of his vulnerability and made him into one of their tools. He might have been able to work alongside Katasuke, but the kind of "power" he sought couldn't be found in his research, which was more oriented towards caregiving and rehabilitation. And while Kara did steal Katasuke's research, they're actually more technologically advanced than Konoha, so it makes sense that Ao would side with them.

Remember when the 2nd Hokage was so feared and famous for his water style because he can summon a huge amount of water out of nowhere not needing water source to use water jutsu. Then Boruto learns it in a couple of days. Genius like his Granpa

I feel like comparing Nagato to Ao isn't exactly fair, Nagato's whole plan was to bring peace (yes through a messed up way) and that came from a really traumatic past yet his objective wasn't about him alone it was about the world, comparatively Ao's vision and objectives ARE about him and ONLY him so while both characters are tragic in their own way I don't think they are comparable or that we should feel the same way about both.
