Russian Wolfhound is the old name of the breed in the U.S., officially changed by the AKC in 1936. The news hasn't quite spread yet... That they are writing greyhounds in the subtitles annoys me, but I'm not surprised because it's not the first time I've seen greyhound (which for me is a breed from England) used instead of sighthound (or gazehound), the generic term for that type of dog. It would be correct to talk of borzois as Russian sighthounds, greyhounds as English sighthounds, sloughis as Arab sighthounds, and so on. But hey, I'm happy there are subtitles at all! I'm not going to quibble about details...

The Borzoi is my breed since 1990. Borzoi pups are not cute in the same way other breeds are. Likewise, other breeds are NOT beautiful in the same way a Borzoi is beautiful when it is mature.
