I know this saw is designed to run with the Procore batteries, but how does it run on the standard 5ah?

i noticed you said you bought the plunge saw, was the cut from this saw not as clean when it was on the track?

Hi there - I have bought one of these saws recently. I’m noticing a small amount of vertical play when it’s set on various plunge depth settings. Which would normally be locked tight with the older lever depth setting. Do you notice the same ? Thanks

Hi Alistair, I haven’t had any issues as you describe here. The cutting depth adjustment isn’t exactly a precise gauge though as this is a circular saw as opposed to a dedicated plunge saw which would give you precise adjustment to the mm. Maybe a plunge saw would be better suited to your use?

so glad I found this. I'm in need of a new saw and have been looking at Metabo(Hikoki)

The million dollar question, bi-turbo vs flexvolt which one wins? Actually I am more interested in precision. Your thoughts would be welcomed

I think it’s all personal preference really! I’ve not used the flex volt myself and am really impressed with the power achieved by the Bi-turbo saw and pro core batteries. I’ve ripped 3m solid oak boards over 50mm thick and this saw doesn’t struggle at all. The guide rail makes for excellent straight cuts and you can achieve precise bevelled cuts too. I’ve recently invested in the bi-turbo plunge saw from Bosch so these two are a great pair running on the same batteries

@@ateliercabinetmakers8661 yes flexvolt was a fail; far too complicated and unecessary. bosh have developed the 18v system using 21700 cells and give the amps for power.

This tool looks awesome except for the digital screen...I would prefer no screen at all...unless it could tell me the actual depth of cut precisely...or your exact guide width.

Thanks for the great review...how have you found use for longer cuts, as a right handed user, with the blade on other side? Dont have the chance to trial it, is it silly that I think this might be an issue for me?

Hi I’ve this week used the saw for ripping 5.6m long oak boards with multiple guide rails connected together (I nearly always use the guide rail with this saw) I haven’t had any issues as I am more used to using a plunge saw which also has the blade on the right hand side. Hope that helps! Jamie

Thx for the review. No doubt about the power the biturbo - procore duo can generate. However, can u achieve a fair amount of work with a full 8ah battery (I know obviously it is relative and depends on what work) ???

The German guys from Bauforum24 managed a little over 40m of medium density wood. The comparable Festool did 30m.

Great review. How long is does the battery last and have you used the saw to cut concrete?
@ateliercabinetmakers8661
@ateliercabinetmakers8661 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the battery lasts well for me and the work I do. I’ve not done any specific battery/amount of cutting it can achieve tests but there are others on KZbin that do this. I have the 8amp pro core batteries and there is also a 12 amp pro core option available if you want more cutting on one battery. I’ve not cut concrete but I know there is specific blades for cutting other materials available from Bosch.

What sucks is having to pay a butt load in shipping because Bosch is skimping in America and you have to order from European online shops. Im chomping at the bit for their cordless track saw. And to top it off, the l-boxes are like leprechauns over here. Yet again, you have to order online. And don't even get me started on looking for mafell saw kits. Enough ranting, excellent video brother.

Fingers crossed they will have more available in America soon. I can fully understand your frustration when you can see it online but not get your hands on it. I’m really keen to look at the cordless plunge saw once it’s available as my plunge saw is my most used saw. I have the Festool TS55 but having a cordless plunge saw would be soo useful in many situations. Mafell have an excellent plunge saw with its unique scoring setting that moves the blade over 1/10th of a mm 👌🏼 I hope you find what your looking for!

Im a flooring sub contractor and next purchase is there mafell kss40. It's perfect floor plank flooring, it should cut most interior doors as well. But i make furniture (well attempt to) as a hobby, and Bosch is the battery platform I've been on for 10 years. I've always been pleased with their performance and durability

@@charliemartin4392 same here on the Bosch platform, still have a 10 year old 18v drill that even works on the latest pro core batteries. I bet that mafell saw would be a great time saver for you

Ive got the mafell cordless plunge saw its a nice piece of kit! Here in the UK bosch 18v is not a popular choice when it comes to cordless tools, been working on sites for 23 years and only seen probably 3 people who use it, watch some comparison videos on 18v drills and impact drivers etc on KZbin and bosch almost always is bottom of the pile. However this new biturbo range may be a step up? Have you looked at the new metabo plunge saw, that might be an option.
@macvos
@macvos 3 жыл бұрын
@@dannym670 It depends a bit on the specific tools. They do very will with jigsaws, sanders, hammer drills, angle cutters and Flexiclick drills. Their normal drills have better safety features than the competition, but are more expensive and lack a bit in power. The new BiTurbo drill might fix that, but is also very chunky and heavy. Also, if you want the biggest battery platform and want good performing tools without bells & whistles for a good price, Makita is the better choice in most cases, since power used to be better (except for the BiTurbo tools) and pricing is usually a bit lower. If you can buy from German shops, Bosch can be cheaper though.

a shame they made the bore 30mm, all the blades I have are 184 mm diameter with 20mm bore, so not compatible, if the bore would have been smaller people could use adaptive rings to go to arbour size, but the other way does not work!
