Love the video. How very delightful to watch and follow your journey into the world of robot lawn mowing. Very informative. Thank you. Might pick one up myself : )

Thanks! We have just returned from a 4 week cycling trip, and Boris has performed brilliantly. It has been mowing 3 times each week and the lawn looks good. We had one worry when the phone app showed it as 'stopped' - I'm not sure what that meant. I pressed 'dock' and it then showed 'charging' so maybe it just failed to connect at the dock. The verdict is still 'fantastic'!

Last week I installed a 350 and I recognize all your comments during the mapping and mowing. The sound during mowing is the same, it is normal because the knives are flexibly mounted and I think this causes the rattling noise when they hit the gras.

@@davido85 You are too kind. There is not much maintenance really. I have changed the blades twice since we have had the mower, and cleaned the underside at the same time. That's it - and Boris keeps on happily working.

Great indeed if you have not had any technical issues! I assumed instantly that those wires going over the congrete, are too close with each others. Isn´t it 75cm the minimum distance between those. I´ve 400 connect, not so flat yard with many plantings and 390 squre meters, not a recommended entity to indego.. And btw, GREETINGS FROM FINLAND!

Wonderful video, very helpful. Thank you so much for making and sharing. I am looking for a new robot lawnmower, and this one is at the top of my shortlist. Do you mind sharing your long-time user experience?

Thanks Thomas. Yes, we are still very pleased with the Indego. It works 3 days each week and has only got stuck two or three times when we had moved the perimeter wire too near a path. It keeps the lawn neat and tidy and covers the whole area extremely well. It worked from May until October last year and from April this year. I have changed the blades once and they are quite inexpensive from Amazon. We would still happily recommend the device - and it is very interesting and fun to watch it working :-)

I am very happy to see your video, which gave me very useful suggestions. I would like to know if the robot can store the second map. My two lawns are completely separated. Or whether it can work in areas where there is no wire.
@jeffjsmith2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I think that the mower can handle up to three separate areas, but each would need a powered perimeter wire. You can see a useful manual at: www.bosch-diy.com/gb/en/landing/robotic-lawnmowers/indego-help I hope that is useful to you. Jeff

Thank you for this video. May I ask what’s the distance between the perimeter wires on the path?
@jeffjsmith11 ай бұрын
It is 32 cm between the wires, and there has never been a problem with the mower crossing this path.

Thank you for your video. You have two places with lawn. How many squre meters the first zone and second zone? Does Indego cut to lawn in the between two wires? (passageway)
@electriclifeinourseventies10334 жыл бұрын
Hi! The lawn size is about 160 square meters. Yes, it is in two pieces and the Indego travels between the two over the path without any problems. The two wires - out and back - are 35 cm apart, and I think that is about the minimum that would work. There is about 30 cm on the 'outside' of each wire, giving about a one meter passageway used between each lawn area. I hope that help, best regards, Jeff
@feca19834 жыл бұрын
@@electriclifeinourseventies1033 of course Yes - thank you. I have two other questions. my situation is similar just my passageway is longer ( 4,5m) I hope the machine will work in this passageway....so ...Does the machine want to mow the area between the two lines? or just passes over the wire to the other area and back over the other wire?! so my passageway will be 35cm x 450cm. and I don't want the machine cut to "lawn" in the passageway.
@electriclifeinourseventies10334 жыл бұрын
@@feca1983 Yes, it does 'mow' the path. It needs to be level and then it just passes back and forth, thinking it is part of the lawn to cut. The lowest the blade level is 40 mm so if it is pretty level there should be no problem. At the end of our shorter passageway the Indego has to go down a small ramp to the grass level and it doesn't have a problem there either.
@feca19834 жыл бұрын
@@electriclifeinourseventies1033 Thank you My all places are on same level. so it is good. and the machine will cut the passageway in only one direction... or crosswise too?

@jeffjsmith3 жыл бұрын
We have the power supplied to the docking station all the time, and this in turn provides the power to the mower. I guess we could turn off the power supply, although the mower would complain to the app probably. The power supply will only use minimal power, except when the mower is actually charging itself.

That Sound is terrible! Is that the normal Sound of the Robot? Or is there something wrong with bis Knifes? I Bought one just 1 day ago and i m scared. Greetings from Germany!
@electriclifeinourseventies10335 жыл бұрын
Don't worry! The Indego is really quiet and the sound is being exaggerated by the GoPro. We have been out in the garden with it working around us and it is very gentle and relaxing in fact. I don't think you need to be scared. :-)

Hey good Job. Bud you can go more to the Edge.
@electriclifeinourseventies10335 жыл бұрын
You are right and we have moved the wire closer in a number of places. I think I was too cautious, but it was pretty easy to move the wire to make it able to do more cutting. It is going very well!

@@electriclifeinourseventies1033 Hi, thanks for the good video.. How close did you end up go with the wire.?
@electriclifeinourseventies10334 жыл бұрын
@@The50jones I took it to about 25 cm from an edge which is not level with the lawn. On occasions the mower does bang (gently) into the edging wall that I have, depending on the angle it is cutting at. If it comes in at 90 degrees to the edge that is fine, but if if is at 45 degrees to the edge then it will just touch. It doesn't seem to mind too much! Bosch recommend 30 cm which is probably perfect.

Great demonstration. I’m in the market for a robot mower. I really like the intelligence that is built into the Indigo S+ model, but the noise is really putting me off 🙁 Having watched reviews of Gardena Sileno, it could be a deal breaker. The Bosch seems to be a great product on all other accounts. Damn…
@jeffjsmith3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I really wouldn't worry about the sound level of the mower. It is really not noticeable, and even at night it doesn't worry us. The video does sound a bit loud, but that is not an accurate experience. We have never been at all impacted by the sound. And still going well two years on.
@twisterwiper3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffjsmith Ok. That’s good to hear. I have no problem with a humming sound - it’s the clanging that would annoy me. Maybe it’s worth taking a chance on it. There’s a good deal on the S+ 500 in my area at the moment. I really appreciate your input, Jeff. Thanks!

I can’t recall a clang ever. A few clunks when I put the wire a little too near a concrete path edge …. and it does rattle as it wanders over a path between our areas of grass. I do hope it works out for you, perhaps let me know if you get one how you feel? Jeff
@twisterwiper3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffjsmith Based on your comments I went ahead and got the Indego. I have to say you are absolutely right about the noise (or lack thereof). It’s a non-issue. Very happy about that 😄👍🏻 I only just finished the install so I haven’t got much experience with it, but I’m quite satisfied so far. However, I will say that the recommended 30 cm distance to an edge is a bit conservative. I’m left with a 10 cm strip of uncut grass on the edges. Oh well, it’s all part of the learning experience 😄 Thanks again for recommending the Indego!

@@twisterwiper Hi, that is great to hear. I had to adjust our wire in some places to get the mower closer to some edges to reduce the strimming I had to do from time to time. I also had to move it away in a couple of places where the ground dropped away slightly and caused wheel spins. Have fun!

the front wheels have a design fault in that they get clogged with damp or wet grass, the mower is then unable to move.
@jeffjsmith4 жыл бұрын
I can only recall cleaning out the front wheels once during the summer - it hasn't been a problem for us yet. I wouldn't call it a design fault but rather something you just need to keep an eye on from time to time. I had more concern with the back wheels collecting dead leaves in the autumn when it was wet, but even then it didn't cause any failure. But thanks for your comment, it is something to keep in mind.
