I think this scene is stupid the bad guy has a gun and she should have shot as soon as she had the chance and it would have been legal.... in addition she slowly puts her hand on the trigger - she should have shot when he grabs the gun and had her finger on the trigger and yelled if she figured that was the thing to do ... for example a much better scene was earlier in this series when Bosch confronts the assasin and says move and your dead and she gets a shot off before he can do anything this is realistic ..

You make a good point, I see it as Maddie giving him a chance to surrender but she really should have shot him when he pulled the gun.
