Thanks for a great review. - A proper review from someone that's not just taking a new tool out of the box, but has experience of that type of tool. Also like that you did the review after having worked with the tool for many hours. Have subscribed and will be looking at more of your videos.

Thanks for the real life review. My dewalt broke its belt and I needed to get something to use while I wait on the belt to be delivered. Saw your review and decided to try the Bosch. I'm really happy I did. Better dust collection, lighter weight, and quieter. My wife and I use sanders almost daily and liked the Dewalt a lot but this will become our primary sander now.

Mike Bricker If you use your sander daily you might want to look into a $200 to $300 unit. Many people complain of the pad not being flat resulting in only the perimeter of the sand paper contacting your sanding surface.

@@Assimilator702 I've looked at Festool but haven't convinced myself to spend the $700 or more by the time you add a dust extractor yet. Maybe later this year. I agree that both the Bosch and the Dewalt I have seem to use the perimeter of the disk.

Mike Bricker I might try the Makita pistol grip sander. It’s $103 on Amazon and it seems the backing disc contacts the surface 100%. If the Dewalt and Bosch sanders were designed for perimeter sanding I guess there isn’t an issue but some people claim the engineers @ Bosch say the pad should be flat. I guess Bosch is good about replacing discs but if most of the discs are concave that indicates a problem with QC that needs to be addressed.

Bosch makes good things, very creative brand like usual Germany people are gifted hands on quality. Good review spent lots of time loving makita, its expensive and no match to Bosch.

Honest review on a very good product. Just switched over from Craftsman V20 Orbital sander. The ROS20VSC is a lot quieter (LOTS !!) and very very little dust escaped (may be 2% versus 50% on the v20 design) in comparison. and Yes, it's lighter. It's a very good buy !!

Capt Jay How did the paint job turn out? A woodworking sander is not the first choice I would make for sanding a fresh paint job.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed. But after having the experience of doing entire videos and realizing after the fact that the camera wasn't even recording or that the battery died in the middle of the video, you learn not to sweat the smaller stuff. Cheers!

Thank you for the review. Is the sander still holding up for you?
@RENOS4PROSJOES
@RENOS4PROSJOES 4 жыл бұрын
The sander is holding up fine. I use it sporadically. I have had the chance to use several other sanders, and I will be making another video on my new findings. However, what I will generally say it that this sander is excellent for doing basic all-around sanding. If you need something more powerful, you are going to need to move up in price range pretty far above this(4x more), to get a sander that does everything just as well as this one does, and also provides more power.

RENOS 4 PROS & JOES Does your sander sand in the middle of the pad or only around the perimeter. Many people complain their pads are not flat. I’m still on the fence about this one. I’ve never had an issue with a Bosch tool so I’m surprised this is a common occurence.

VS Variable speed is $69. Non variable speed is $59. The filter has an actual filter in it.

So non variable speed only goes 1 speed? The fastest possible? Can this be problematic for projects? What I'm asking is variable speed worth the extra $20?
@marioatencio1959
@marioatencio1959 3 жыл бұрын
@@lorenfok1097 I have one of each. I like them for different things. I like the power of the single speed for heavy sanding and use the variable speed for finer work. If I had to choose one - It would be a tough choice.
