Great video, but what would be the symptoms of a drained amplifier module? My car had a faulty return pipe and now the car wont pass the emissions test. I am wondering if it could be due to a drained amplifier module, which causes an injector to stay open. Is this palausible?

I did some further research, and found the answer to my question. It seems that a drained hydraulic coupler or amplifier will cause the injector not to inject.

Hello and thank you for this video. The mentioned draining of the amplifier module, can that happen only when disassembling the injector or also while performing a classic return quantity test? As far as i know, these tests dont use any non return valves..?!

the non return valve is necessary also during testing, otherwise the amplifier will empty.

Hi, regarding inside the nozzle theres a small spacer then a spring and another spacer which is bigger and also has a flat surface on one end and tapered the other end, which way round does this go please? Many thanks

Can you explain why the amplifier may drain? Also does that apply only to test bench or fitting in a car right away it will drain as well?

It usually drains during the disassembling of the injector. During testing and operation on the vehicle the injector is connected to a backleak pipe wih a non return valve, the non return valve prevents the amplifier from draining.

Great video, but why after assembly piezo 115 injector nozle cap/nut it leaks on the thread? I have marked nozzle cap and it is 50lbs torque but after tightening to same mark it leaks, I noticed there is a thread lock/seal on injector body, do I need to use another adhesive/sealant?

Hello, the tightening torque for Bosch Piezo nozzle nuts is 56 Nm. We confirm that there is a seal that goes in there too, our reference 1 211 385. If you want to try and replace it, please contact our offices at [e-mail], and request an offer, it is in stock.

I am sorry but we do not know the part number 30750283 so we cannot advise about it specifically. The nozzle nut of other Bosch Piezo injectors is tightened at 56 Nm.

The full definition is ISO 4113, it is a standard for oils to be used in calibration instruments, such as the common rail test bench in our case.

It may not be sufficient to replace the valve. Generally, the nozzle should also be replaced, then there are all the other components, to check and replace as needed. In piezo injector, great care is also necessary when refilling the amplifier piston. Many different factors all concur to the final outcome.

The spraying pattern depends on the nozzle and it is fixed. If you use the correct nozzle, corresponding to the injector part number you are servicing, it will have the correct spray pattern.

No, we do not release test plans. Every workshop should source a brand new injector sample, thest it on their own test bench and conditions, and take note of the results, possibly keeping the "master" injector as a reference for later comparisons. This is the only way to assure that the results are consistent and comparable to later tests made on the same equipment and conditions.
