Bose Companion 2 Series III | Speaker Crack Repair

The drivers are impressive, aside from the cracked surround. Usually Bose has cheapo looking drivers, but these magnets are huge. Ther's no excuse for this rubber surround failing, and Bose should replace these speakers even if they're 5 years old and out of warranty. No excuse for this type of defect in a name brand speaker.

Smells of planned obsolescence which Bose has done before with the Triport IE Headphones (or earbuds). The cord on them would completely disintegrate after about a year or sometimes earlier. Happened to me and thankfully a good store employee gave me a new pair, no questions asked. Read a whole forum online forum about it (if it still exists).

Never be the same... the only thing to do is a complete replacement to the driver or in the worst of cases a compatible suspension transducer

Mines does from time to time a weird low bass noise like a bbbbbbbbbb sound, I tap on the top once and it disappears but I dunno what is it, it's on the left satellite only and I checked, there's no crack. Any idea what it could be?

Could be loose wire inside, or the speaker is possibly dying or is damaged?

It's better to replace the drivers. I will be doing this soon, not cause the drivers are damages, but as an upgrade purely.

Just refoam them (or rerubber!!!)!!! But use the original drivers!

Definitely NOT Bose Companion 2 Series III. The series III is not that easy to get into. I have one in front of me. I thought this video was for a Series three which it's not.. 2 thumbs down..
