I just bought a manky, dirty set second hand 25 in Ireland for €250. I cleaned it up nicely and found the cd changer not working. Also the remote is a bit iffy. I cleaned it up and still need to get into the unit to sort the cd out. Thanks for a lovely video. Ive wanted one of these systems for a long long time and am very happy with what I have. I am going to get some acoustic cloth to cover the double cubes with because theyre a bit ming too 😂. Merry Christmas and thanks again.

My grandfather has a Lifestyle system and it’s still going strong. I’ve got quite a few of the Acoustimass systems and enjoy them daily! Also the distortion comes from the bad caps in the Acoustimass amplifier circuit.

Those jewel cube speakers didn't even originally come with those older lifestyle systems. They're a newer design that were included in the premium lifestyle systems while the lower end systems had the normal cloth direct reflecting cube speakers

The most expensive Lifestyle system they made was the 650 which has just been discontinued. I’ve owned it for 2 1/2 yrs. But got it new heavily discounted.it is by far the best system they ever made.

I have 3 bose lifestyle systems and various. I'm looking forward to seeing the different zone modes . I don't know anything about yet. I sold my av48 and wish I didn't. I love the the look of the Lifestyle systems. I bought some Loewe Bose Concertos as my main Left & Right speakers and the sound quality differences are incredible. So much more detail out of the Concertos!! I look forward to getting more LoeWe Bose Concertos! !! They sound Amazing

They are available really cheap now NZ$300. I have suggested a friend look at it as an upgrade to their UE boom? Worthwhile for the non-audiophile that likes music. "Really good sound range..". I guess you think it is worthwhile.

I have the accustimass 20 with 3 bass modules and 10 double cubes, I cut a few cables and got all 3 woofers working but unfortunately the unit it's about useless with the remote not working I'm going to try and get dedicated amplifiers and crossovers for the system and make it come back to life

To the person who cut the acoustimass cables. Just get a bread tie next time and tie up the unused portion of cable needed. That way the wires are very manageable and not hard to deal with

Almost go suckered into buying a lifestyle 30 in 1998. Yes, they were around 2500 NZD. I remember the advertised novelty of being these small sophisticated cubes playing full range sound out of a slim discreet stylish box. Then you found iut everything was just plugged into a big subwoofer box which kind of made it all a bit disappointing, if not deceitful. The sound was ok but pretty average, it really was just a "lifestyle unit", and definitely overpriced back in its day.

I am a Bose Fan all my life! Ive spent on my last system about 3thousand dollars. I see a lot of videos that claim that Bose systems are not as good as they should be. MY question is what brands or system out there come close to the crysp and bass sound Bose Brand offer? I Am curious because ive bought off brand systems and havent come close to even the most inexpensive home theaters Bose offers.

My parents has a lifestyle system forgot which series, but it looks similar to this video along with a acoustimas series 10 and 12 hooked up to my dad Yamaha RX-V3800 receiver. I can tell you there are many brands that blows Bose when it comes to clarity, dynamics and quality. First off, I started with Klipsch Quintets series 4 and then i kept it and picked up a Definitive Technology Procinema 800’s and I gotta say not as dynamic as the Klipsch, but it is much more smoother than the Klipsch and lastly I purchased a KEF HTS-3001 system and this system sounds much refined and very smooth not as bright as the Def Tech or Klipsch but it is much smoother and broader sound stage than the Klipsch and Def tech’s. I’m a very devoted Home theater enthusiast and my main love brand is Klipsch and I gotta say Def techs and KEF’s are great too. As for Bose I had an opportunity to pick up a Bose acoustimas 16 series 2 for $400 and I hooked it up to my Marantz SR8005 receiver and I gotta say it does not compare to my Klipsch, Def techs and KEF’s. Now, this is with my room acoustics calibrated by my receiver and the Bose sounds okay, but lifeless with no mids and the sub is not bad, but will not play lower than 35hz. There is no dynamics and punch to the system compared to my Klipsch quintet speakers. And as for clarity it can’t top the Klipsch or the Def techs at all. And not as smooth as the KEFs. I feel you can obtain much clarity and punch if I Increase the treble and bass to max, but then it really makes the system to bloated on the bass and unnatural on the highs. With that said I ended up giving the acoustimas 16 to my dad. My dad could not hear the difference between his acoustimas 12 and the 16. The speakers looks the same and the sub may look at bit different, but he says it sounds very similar to each other. I wouldn’t doubt it if Bose uses the same drivers and technology on their systems. I wasn’t impressed, but for the average user that is not a critical home theater enthusiast or even a audiophile I think Bose will do, but I believe it is not worth the money for what it is and can be had by other well known brands out there for the same or a bit cheaper in price. B&W, KEF, Klipsch, Definitive technology are a few that makes small speakers
