Just got back from best buy today after trying out both these headphones. I'm going to start out by saying they are both kick ass head phones and on a blind pick you can't go wrong. Noise canceling is essentially identical sound quality is very close. And I mean very close. My only thing after listening to both is that for me personally the 1000x headphones sound quality seems almost too clean and polished. (hopefully some people will understand what I'm saying). The Bose I found to have a more authentic sound. almost like the music had more character over the Sony headphones. I just found it easier for me to get lost in the music with the Bose on and my eyes closed just letting the music transport me someplace else. hopefully this helps someone decide what to do. like I said, both are great. That's just my personal experience with them

I know exactly what you mean there was just something about the Sony’s that didn’t sound right and I don’t know how to explain it
@jhazemusic6 жыл бұрын
kman6860 I did the same thing and I liked everything better about the sony, except the bose presented better bass. Since I listen to hip hop, that matters to me. I think that best buy has their EQ settings very flat, I'm thinking if your device has adjustable EQs, you can adjust it to your liking. There's an app for the headphones too, maybe that can make a difference?

To be honest, I was at the store to try both of them before I made up my mind. And was leaning towards the Sony but it actually had worse sound than the Bose and my boyfriend thought the exact same thing. Which was weird since most people say the Sony has better sound. I ended up buying the Bose anyway.

Tried both. I prefer the Bose for better NC performance at least in the environment I tested them but just for a tiny bit. Also 35 wins comfort for long periods of use as you can't almost tell you're wearing them. Both sound pretty well and close in quality, it's more a matter of preference in that area, as well as in design. Sony wins with the touch pouch commands and the activation of external sound by covering the pouch with your hand. My recommendation is test them before buy because they're so good that small details and own preferences will make the difference for you. I can't believe when I read comments saying "Bose/Sony wins by far". Great products.

Yeah. I felt the same as Nathan said. Moreover, once NC optimizer kicks in, I felt swirling into a new world where there is no noises at all that is different from Bose QC35. I thumb up for Sony, not QC35 which could not remove all the ambient noises as perfectly as Sony does. More importantly, in South Korea Bose QC35 retails for $456 while Bose Korea make most of grey imported, much cheaper QC35 very difficult to get warranty.

Sony's have a better noise cancellation at least from when I tried both. Press and hold the Noise cancelling button on the Sony and it will enable the NC optimizer. I had an issue with Bose since with Glasses, it left a little airgap and NC wouldn't work that well. Sony on the other hand, with NC optimizer fixed itself. I returned the Bose simply because Sony's had equivalent NC and much better sound signature. Also, the touch features are awesome!

Nathan5791 too bad the Sonys aren't as comfortable as the QC35. The padding isn't as soft and it's not as thick as the Bose, so the seal isn't as great as they should be. I owned them for about 2 weeks, although the audio was great and increased ambient features. I really wanted to love them, but the subpar comfort had me returning them back. Even the new skullcandy crusher wireless with pleather earcups are way more comfortable, how sad is that.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I'm in the market for my first ever wireless headphones and I've kind of narrowed it down to these two, so far. One review that I read about the Bose said that the enclosed rechargeable batteries eventually wear out and won't take a charge anymore, they could only be replaced by the factory and that Bose would not even do that after the warranty ran out. I don't know if this is true or not. I also don't know if the same applies for the Sony earphones. Do you happen to know anything about this issue? I know that one could always still use the plug in power cord even with worn out batteries, but if I'm going to spend this much on earphones, I pretty much would expect them to last for the rest of my life with a completely wireless/battery fed option. If what I read about the Bose is true, then it's pretty much a deal breaker for me.

I settled on the Bose. The Sony's design is too ugly for me, yes the premium designs LOOK nice but when you actually wear them those cups just bulge out! also I prefer buttons to a gimmicky gesture system no matter how well it might work, not to mention comfort. but different people different preferences.
@shadzlee757 жыл бұрын
This review is good however, there's 1 missing important part to be compared on which is the attention button i.e. in QC35 if someone is talking to you, you have to lift over your ear while in 1000x, you just simply cover the right side.
@PaintrainX7 жыл бұрын
I've tried the Bose headphones at the store. The NC is good and they are comfortable, but I was disappointed with the sound quality. My Sennheiser CX300II in ear plugs sound better than the QC35. Don't know about the Sony headphones, but I'm a bit annoyed that sound quality testing is not that important to most reviewers.
@bassesatta92357 жыл бұрын
PaintrainX its because theyre wireless and noise cancelling. U arent buying it for top notch sound quality
@andrewpolitano6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I thought it was common knowledge that NC headphones FIRST priority is to isolate you from an environment. You aren't buying flat-response studio cans, here. For most that are interested in NC tech, they want that isolation first and foremost (those that live in a city and commute on trains, those that work from coffee shops, etc.) You can always use your nice headphones at home though. This is why people own multiple pairs!
@nosvsanton7 жыл бұрын
Double tap on Bose button will play next track and triple click will play prev track, so Bose have the same navigation as Sony except turn on/off NC. I use for a long time Bluetooth headphones with touchpanel and with mechanical buttons, and in my opinion mechanical buttons much much comfortable. I mean, I so often accidentally play/pause music or change track when I just rearrange my headphones with touchpanel.

Can you please compare Bluetooth? The Bose can store up to 8 devices and connect to 2 devices at the same time and it also has a software that you can control. Such an awesome feature if you have Bluetooth on laptop and transmitter. But with all the good review of Sony, I ordered one. I love everything about it but can only connect to 1 Bluetooth a times. If you are just going to use with your phone. Then you are good. But if you have bunch of Blue Device, the BOSE is an everything headphone. I connect to my phone and laptop, watch TV, to my desktop, it switch to one when it lost a connection to one.

As of now the price of the Sony's have reached parity with the Bose ($349.99). The Sony's has an optimizer than when used will make the noise canceling better for that particular environment, and can be as good or better than the Bose, and that added functionality of the Sony Noise Canceling is a fantastic feature. Still I hear that when it come to airplane noise the Bose are better for canceling the engine noise. Sony's aren't bad on an airplane just that Bose seems better optimized. Still, I more inclined towards the Sony's due to the extra features and better overall sound quality.

Hi, I use the Fiio E17k Alpen 2 DAC-Amp with my S7 Edge mobile phone. I currently use the 'Bose SoundTrue 1 around-ear headphones' with this setup. Do you think I should upgrade my headphones to the Sony MDR 1000x in order to- (a) listen to my music via bluetooth when I am travelling or do not have my DAC around; (b) listen to my music in the 'wired' mode through the DAC, i.e. use the MDR1000x (as a regular wired headphone) instead of the Bose SoundTrue headphones. While the (a) is pretty clear via the various reviews, it is the (b) that I am not sure about; as in would using the MDR 1000x connected to my Fiio E17k DAC via it's 3.5 mm wire really give me better sound? Thanks, Sameer.

Gd day to all, I can't help but to express my opinion over the two most talk about "can" here. I owned a qc35 & yes I'm lettin it go today at a loss. The reason is, most of the headphones aficionado here overlooks a very important aspect " the wired audio quality". My QC35 hv a very lousy audio quality on wired. To me it's Juz slightly better than those airlines disposable giveaway junk. I'm seriously so dissapointed in this aspect alone. Othet than that qc35 is almost perfect on wireless.I got to give two thumps up for Sony mdr-1000x for the wired & wireless audio quality. deeper bass & more functional option than QC35. For those who are planning to get a new pairs of can, my advice is to have them tested out as many way as u can. The mistake I had with Bose which had a fixed on power cord for the Demo display set that plays only the amplified & beutified music of songs that they cosmetically presented to innocents buyer. Hv them tested on yr own MP3 player or portable audio device to truely feel the sound that u r looking for. For deep bass lover, pls try out nakamichi elite wireless on-ear headphone. The bass is much harder than Bose. & the price is merely ard usd130/=. The wired & wireless audio quality is almost the same. I'm loving it so much as it serve as a daily beater which much lower price tag. Hv a Gd music day. Cheers!!!

I've always had BOSE and they have been great. I got the QC35 expecting more of the same BUT you can't turn the NC off. I use the phones for walking and I listen to audiobooks, but with the NC on, on a windy day, the sound of the wind is amplified. From this vid I have only learned you can turn the NC off with an app, but that info came too late as I have already brought them back, and ordered the Sony. Still, not having a switch to turn off the NC on a 400$ headphone is a major boo boo from Bose, I mean they are in this market a long time. I think they panicked and rushed this product to market when Beats and Sennheiser released wireless phones. I still have the QC25 but I am hoping I can sell those and totally replace them with the Sony..(Fingers crossed)

I appreciate your comparison video however I really think that the use words are very wrong e.g. U said that the Bose has harsher noise cancelling which not true. Bose has much more sort after noise cancellation the company has invented noise cancellation and brands like Sony can will take some time to reach to stage, secondly u said that the Bose does not have much controls over the Sony which partially incorrect, on Bose headphones you can change tracks through pressing the center button twice to go forward and thrice to go to the previous track! Now coming to the sound both the headphones are fantastic however Bose has an edge over Sony since it has a feature called automatic eq and volume optimized eq, comfort wise Bose looks better and looks wise you can view your own video to tell what looks better to me Bose looks very elegant in any situation personal or professional! I can say all this because I belong to the same industry and Qc 35 is killing the market with its quality and Bose service!

I sold my PXC 550 after I found that my right ear can't bear the pressure from any ANC headphones But to be honest the PXC 550 is quite good in terms of the sound which is close to the HD598 Cs I am using The ANC is decent too, I still can hear people who speak loudly, but can barely hear ambient noise like bus engine and air conditioners The touch controls are good, but sometimes too sensitive probably because of my sweaty hands? I tried the MDR-1000x for many times before I have bought my PXC 550 but I found that the sound is quite muffled, so I didn't choose that even though I am using a Sony phone

It's never smart to be a fanboy, but instead you should always compare every single product. ;)

tried both.....pretty obvious bose is better in terms of nc, comfort and sound quality. the features on the sony were what drove me towards them but i later found it pretty useless

I so agree with you. Went to the store to try both of them and was surprised because the Bose did have better sound quality, even though I've read 9/10 people saying the exact opposite thing. :S

well, what is better belongs to everyones taste. For me its the Sonys. Clearer, same or better nc. The features turn out to be very useful actually. Also the aptx support is another advantage.

Where did you try them? Cause the demo models are known to not sound right for the Sony's. The Sony's sound much better and their noise cancelling is about the same if not slightly better
