I think the deal break for me is the fact that i can charge my phone at the same time i play music. I don't know how many times I've been at the beach, at the pool, in a garage, or at a roof top and there was no outlets available. Bose really messed up by not adding that feature to their product. Therefore i'm going with the JBL and buying on tomorrow.... Thank you for the review.

You can hear the difference in clarity with the BOSE SoundLink Color 2 vs the JBL Charge. For a small speaker, bass is just never going to be satisfying. Bass comes at the cost of clarity in small compact 2.0 speakers, so I'm glad BOSE did the same they did with the soundlink color 1. Decent bass, better mids/highs

TicoBot I own both and they’re both excellent speakers. For indoor use the Bose sounds better in my opinion but outside it’s pretty awful. The charge 3 sounds good indoors and out but the mids are muddy at times.

Charge 3 is bang for buck, while Bose did what it does best - nice clean sound. I'd buy both if I had the money, but looks like I'll have to console myself by watching this video

I owned the jbl briefly and switched to the color II. The color is way better. There is clarity with the Bose. You can hear more detail with Bose. Jbl had more bass but sounded like the treble was tuned down a lot. Bose had clearer treble. The bass is not overkill. Overall its more balanced which wins.

I have a JBL Charge 3. Paired it with a device with a built in equalizer and setting it up to My preference greatly improves the sound quality of the kind of music I've been listening into. Mostly rock/metal. Great price, great features. Nice review.

If it affects your decision at all, you can find the JBL Charge in multiple prices and models at Kohls and you can apply Kohls cash or reward coupons to that purchase. That is if you have a location in your state, I know theyre not a nationwide (US) retailer as of yet.

Very good comparison and review. I have purchased the Bose and I feel good about my purchase but, if I expected to need more base, less clarity, and outdoor usage, I would certainly consider getting the JBL as well. Thanks for the video!

The Charge 3 is so much better in so many ways than the Soundlink color, heck much better than the Soundlink Mini. I compared them real life with my own music streaming and no contest at all. I really see how Bose is overpriced and how JBL is just starting to flex their muscles. If history and Music industry can show us is that JBL knows how to make Superb speakers and I believe their just getting their feet wet on these type of speakers. Can you do a JBL Xtreme versus Soundlink 3. You will see even better what I'm saying. The SLIII sounds like a toy to be honest. Thanks for the nice Review. Can I ask you something, how far where your Mic from the Speakers? Suggestion: add a 50% vs 50%, 75% vs 75% and 100% vs 100% and it will provide us all with even a better Perspective. Thanks Again.

Well currently you can buy the charge 3 for 89 bucks on Amazon. At that price, I bought two for stereo pairing. This changes everything. The Bose cannot challenge two charge 3's at that price point. Not even remotely so.

I have Bose soundlink 2 that I got as a gift and today I found a jbl flip5 in the park (late at night.. i was there a long time no one came to take it!) i will then decide which to keep and which to sell out. But I can tell yall that the Bose has been amazing! Plus, they have the Bose Connect app and I’ve been controling everyone on the speaker since forever lol! The sound is better, sometimes bogs but its still great! Also, the charge wears out pretty fast but I use it while charging and works great!

If you hit the connect button on the charge 3, it gives more highs. Not sure if it’s a hidden eq or it does that because it links with other speakers so it needs to boost the highs. It sounds much better with the connect button activated. 😁

I listened to both of these and many others at the $100ish price point. I don't blame anyone for going with the charge 3 for the bonus features, however it simply sounded muddy compared to the Bose. When buying a speaker I always go for what sounds the best. Both are more rugged than what I would ever need them to be. The Bose sounded a lot like the higher end speakers on the mid-highs. For most songs it has just enough bass. Otherwise I struggle a bit with any of these portable speakers compared to a home stereo, but for the convenience of it, its hard to beat.

i heard the color 2 is practicly the same as the color 1. Only difference is the water resistance. I own the color 1 and also the charge 3. The charge has deeper bass response and sounds better. It misses some treble but with an equalizer app you can make it a very awesome speaker. The Bose depends more on its placement but is more portable.

Kudos for the great quality review here. Good enough to inform an online purchase. Testing in the store you could spot the differences outlined here. I went with the Bose (primarily indoor use) imho spotify at 320 via bluetooth is muddy enough without additional drop in sound quality on the JBL, sound quality ftw.

This list I made after trying and hearing different BT speakers Best for bass = JBL and Sony Best for more balanced and less bassy sound = Bose I have tried outhers at a store but those are the ones that sounded best to me so far. I also have some more natural sounding studio monitor speakers, but they are on the smaller side. Man there are so many good sounding audio things to me that are small nowdays.

Karim Anwar Amazing... Yes both can be used while being charged. Some manufacturers don't recommend using them while they are being charged though, so I would just charge them overnight or when not being used.

I just checked the manual on both and it doesn't say anything about not using them while charging, so it's fine, but I have seen that warning on other speakers in the past. So to sum it up, yes they can both be used while charging!

i have a jbl charge 4 as you can see on my profile and i have a bass test of it and theres different versions of the jbl like GG and TL, The TL has a much clearer sound than the GG and you have the GG version here. You can know the version by looking at the sticker above the charging ports also it has a secret bass mode called LFM Low Frequency Mode. You can get it by pressing bluetooth and minus for 11 seconds
