I'm trying to find out more about using the compressor settings, and seem to be stymed by the explanations I have found. We use the T1 with a Bose PA, guitar, vocals, and sometimes sax and bass. The guitarist sings, and, distracted by his singing, his strumming get too loud. So a little compression would be helpful. -------------------------------------- The manual says: ⦁ Rotate Thresh button to adjust the input threshold (trigger) level from -50dB to 0dB. A more negative number will result in more compression. The closer the Threshold number is to 0 (which is the top of the scale in digital terms), the less compression there will be. ⦁ Rotate the Gain button to adjust the gain from 0dB to 30.0dB. [3.0 dB is a good starting point, per advice elsewhere on the Bose website. ] ⦁ The Gain bar above the button shows the amount of gain reduction. This display helps in setting the threshold --------------------------------------- Since the "Gain bar shows the amount of gain reduction", I presume I'm really adjusting the possible changes in gain from 0 to *minus* 30 dB, and the minus sign is assumed, because the context is compression, not expansion. Am I correct? Terminology for the "input trigger" also is unclear to me. "Trigger" means, to me, that the mixer "looks" at an incoming signal, and if it's too hot, triggers compression - cuts the gain. So what does the range -50dB to 0dB mean in this context? Is it the difference in volume levels between the loudest signal triggering compression and that of a signal that doesn't trigger compression?

Try the presets, they work pretty well. Gain is make-up gain( the amount you are turning it up after it's been compressed), Threshold is the point where the compression kicks in. If the vocal is too hot try the Medium or Heavy settings, same with the guitar. I mostly use Light for my bass. I think that Light is around 3 to1, Medium is around 5 to:1 & Heavy is around 10 to1 compression ratios more or less.

Do these T1 units still hold up today? Good life span/durability? (or is there a better option for the $..? ie $300/used) How do you connect/power this if you're not using it with the Bose PA? I read somewhere you need a special adapter / cable to power this thing from regular outlet.. Thanks

The manual shows that the T1 optional power supply has a cable that plugs into the ToneMatch port.

I'll be sitting in and singing with a friend with this mixer. Where do I plug my Xvive in-ear transmitter and how do I mix the vocals for my feed?
@arthurleblanc72722 жыл бұрын
You can use the Master out or AUX Send and do a mix pre or post fader ( turn the tone match knob to AUX & press CH select button for each channel you want to use to set the levels) To plug the XLR female jack on the Xvive in you will need a 1/4" male TRS to XLR male "patch-cord".

Looking at the L1 Model II. Want a system for my keys and guitars. We are trying to do a two man band using Abelton Live playing backtracks we pre-record. Just started watching your videos. Thanks - Parker

How to use 2 mic using t1? i keep trying but it doesnt work. I have to hook ul the main wire only to line 1 under the mic 1. So only one mic working. If i transfer the main wire to line 2 only that mic line 2 is working and the 1line mic not working. 😔

Want to incorporate an RC3 looper pedal with the new Bose system I've bought ( L1 compact and T1 audio engine ) how does one go about getting this accomplished ?
@BoyntonProAudio6 жыл бұрын
Hi George, There are a few ways to go about it. Are you wanting to loop just one instrument or multiple instruments?
@gtaylorguitar6 жыл бұрын
BoyntonProAudio just my acoustic guitar

Still awaiting response to my question, what's the best way to incorporate my Loop pedal into this Bose system. It would be just my acoustic guitar
@BoyntonProAudio6 жыл бұрын
George Mills Hi George, If all you’re looping is your acoustic guitar, you’d plug straight into the looper pedal, then right into the mixer. You could also use an A/B/Y box if you wanted the looped guitar track on a separate channel of the mixer. Try experimenting just going straight in first though before trying an additional box.

In the internal settings, you can assign one of the outputs to be a headphone out.

Thank You again! before asking You, I wrote to Bose here in Italy, but they say that the master output is mono. But I find this very strange. I also gave a look to the manual ma no clue on it. Could be possible for you to make a video and explain how make the master output into a stereo headphone output? Following the Bose reply. maybe the translation is not so accurate, being generated with google translator, thank you again! "Bose Italy reply": Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting Bose Customer Service. With reference to your request we inform you that the model T1 mixer has been studied above all to manage the sound of a single L1 which is in fact a stage monitor. The T1 does not have all the features of a professional mixer, the Master output for example is MONO and not STEREO. Due to its nature, I do not think Bose plans to update the model by adding headphone output and other technical details.

Is the difference in the T4S worth the extra money over the T1? -- Like what's the difference in the two, other than channel 5/6 added?Looks like a complicated process to save/store names, ect.... You would think Bose could have done better than that? Thanks! -- Post the answer = gain a sub! XD

pisses me off to spend so much money and no way to remote control, not even master volume, majorly sucks, not very innovative in some areas for sure.
