You should get another one of those and then pin it up as a challenge lock and send it to him. You might get a whipped by and gutting disaster in one video.

1 min and 15 seconds it took him (4:30-5:45) "nastiest bitting that they have" (1:13) // "you can see just how evil this thing truly is - it's just nasty" (2:14) Conquered in little over a minute. This channel is making me paranoid about all the locks in my life XD

🤠 ⬅ This is Bill, Bill is a great lockpicker. He picks the most awesome locks. But Bill is not great at locking/snap rings, he once allmost lost an eye fighting such simple piece of cheap metal. Pointy, Sharp, and stabbing tools is what Bill uses, don't be like 🤠 Bill, use the right tool! P.s. Bill what an awesome lock! And again your new flimsy thin picks are excellent! Nice job!

As an industrial mechanic with 25 years of experience, watching you try to get that simple snap ring off probably gives me the same amusement you would have if you were watching me try to pick a lock. Lol. Buy some small snap ring pliers, preferably right angle.

5 minutes 50 seconds - :-) Bot bad for a BLock :-D The keyway looked awesome. Pins were tight sitting - small tolerances. I'm surprised that you could pick this one that quick. I'd probably spend hours trying to pick this one - but learning. Thanks for the video Bill.

KNIPEX makes the best version of plyers for those snap rings. Don't get the reversible type get the dedicated pair for internal or external rings. The reversible ones are always junk and always to wide to fit all applications anyway.

Fascinating as ever, good job you ordered those thin picks I'd say :) Tensioning that lock reminded me of my comment on your last entry level pick set - the "y" shaped tensioner designed to hold open car lock shutters is great for tensioning locks with little meat at the top - please do try that tensioner on this lock before you give the set away or forward this lock on! :)

That's one chunk of a lock! I wonder how effective was the original stock core? As we've discovered, big doesn't necessarily mean secure.

@RealLiveWhiteGuy
@RealLiveWhiteGuy 7 жыл бұрын
I have a few questions. First and foremost, what is that wafer-looking piece hanging onto the first driver? I didn't see it come out of the core so it must have come out of the bible, correct? Also, I am a bit curious about the side key control pin between 5 and 6. Does that engage in the bible or am I missing something?

So my dad just replaced some of his doors to the outside and he insisted on having deadbolts on all the doors, but he only locks the deadbolts not the locks on the handle. So why would he insist on doing that? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Hey, I recently learned how to pick padlocks (by raking) and thus believed that I could help my friend out with a bike whose key was lost (They wanted to use their saw). The lock was a "protect o connect rs 450" and the mechanism looked nothing like that of typical padlocks (no obvioius pins). After some digging I found that it might be a wafer but that might be wrong as it didn't look like obvious wafer locks. All help would be appreciated! Edit: I obviously have the permission of the lock owner (= my friend).
@metamorphicorder
@metamorphicorder 7 жыл бұрын
Thea Baws what company makes the lock? kryptonite? its probably a disc detainer mechanism. if it is its not going to be rakeable. there are tools for it but its probably better to simply cut the damn thing off. seriously, even if you pick it, its sans a key so its not usable unless its just as a practice lock for that type of mechanism. unless your friend going to carry the pick tool to use as a key which is dumb and might get him in trouble.
@MyFFFFingTube
@MyFFFFingTube 7 жыл бұрын
I think the company making it is trelock. I believe that it is a disc detainer as the only movement I saw was to the sides. You're right about the fact that opening it is useless without a key, but I just wanted to show off a bit :D Anywaty thanks for your answer!

Pfaffenhain V14 cylinder is overrated in my opinion. Pretty easy for an experienced picker. That active extra element works only if the core is rotated 120 degrees clockwise . Than one of the outer pins will go into the hole and block the core until it is pushed back from the keyway with a pick. So another pretty useless feature. All in all rather disappointing cylinder.
