You gotta feel for Clara. She played a very brave match using an aggressive bowlingball comming from the outside. I was impressed they way she handled it. It wasent untill the very last frame in the final match it came back to bite her, and showed us why normally straiter is considered greater in these sort of conditions. I saw this happening almost from the first shot, but im surprized she manedged as well as she did. Great bowling!

Power gets boring. I grew up watching the PBA on ABC in the 80s and then started watching again on ESPN about a decade ago. The mens game is overrun with power and it gets boring watching dudes power their way through bad form. Jason Belmonte is at least an interesting twist on the game but I wonder if the PBA would've permitted two-handed technique if it wasn't so desperately trying to expand its marketability.

Actually it's to make the patterns more even - there's much less lefties on tour so there is a smaller volume needed to give them the same (or roughly the same) adjustments, rather than having one shot at the start of the tournament and still playing the exact same shot at the end.

real male bowlers wouldn’t make these sexist remarks about these women’s looks...bowling is much more challenging than any of you realize
@Ironfangzu4 жыл бұрын
"Bowling is much more challenging than any of you realize"? You do realize that millions of us men are regular bowlers right? We know what it's like to throw it high flush and get a ring 8 or 9. We also bowl on sports patterns, and since we're not as good as the pros, we sure as hell know how challenging bowling can be. But our understanding of bowling or lack of same has nothing to do with our sexist remarks. We're men, and we will ALWAYS factor in a woman athlete's looks as we watch her perform. You're out of your mind if you think "real male bowlers" don't look at a woman and have an opinion on her looks. For example, is Shannon O'keefe one hell of a bowler? Sure is. Is Liz Johnson possibly the best woman bowler of all time? Certainly. But is Liz scary ugly and Shannon an easy stand in for the Wicked Witch of the West? You betcha!

Yeah, Earl Anthony used a wrist support and look how bad he was!
@stephenbanks95437 жыл бұрын
katanakeith My problem with them comes from people who never attempt to learn proper fundamentals and get one as a way to “bypass the system” and get higher scores without having to work hard for them. I have no problem with them if they only act like a brace and it doesn’t effect your release. I also don’t have a problem with people who just don’t have the strength in their wrists to hold and need one in order to bowl.
@katanakeith17 жыл бұрын
I didn't mean my comment as a dig, it wasn't my intent.I've been bowling for over 52 years and I still maintain a 195 average during league. I do have a weak wrist but, with a support, I am able to bowl around 30 games a week, which not only helps keep my technique up but, also is my exercise to keep my weight down. I started back when we only had one color for a bowling ball, black rubber. With the transition from that to current resin balls, balls that nearly hook without trying,fancy coverstocks, lighter pins, easier house shot lanes, and side boards made to give pins more bounce for messengers, the wrist supports are the least thing to complain about. That last remark is not directed toward you. I have just never consider them a crutch since the man that made me want to learn used one, Earl. Good bowling to you, sir.
