Great review. I must this is one of my very first blind purchases which turns out to be exciting. The Subass really hits that sweet spot whilst giving me that superior Treble clarity. Love every bit of it!!

Nice review. I think some people are asking too much from the Deuce. It's a $299 set. It cannot outperform a $500 and up set. For me, it performs like a Kato/Performer 5 priced iem that is just tuned completely for sub-bass. If you treat it as such, a sub-bass, fun IEM. You'll have a far better experience with the Deuce. It's a great addition to round out a collection with a vastly different sound signature like S12 or S12 pro. I love mine. It's a foot tapping, fun listen. I carry 2 iems around with me if I'm studying or going on a night shift. Pull Deuce out for fun, pull Kato out if I need to change genres.

How well does the deuce compare to 7hz legato ?
@GearGeek66622 күн бұрын
@EndChronos @XEROXTAKEBACKS I owned 7Hz and now currently own the Deuce. Legato is only as good as it gets on a DAC/Amp. The legato bass sounds muffled without a DAC/Amp. The same cant be said for Deuce, although yes they are power hungry, their comparison is miles apart. Legato is bassy but not punchy. Deuce has massive punch enough to send shivers. Deuce treble to subass ratio is very surprising, interesting and exciting tbh. Makes you want to listen to DnB and hip-hop all day long. A tiny bit of EQ in mids and you pretty much play any genre on the Deuce. I would just say Legato is a good for its price point but you cant compare it to Deuce.

@rnarexperienceАй бұрын
Not for me personally as I feel on the stock tuning, they brought down the mid bass so the treble performance are able to come through clearer but on the bass boost adapter then it does sound subdued because there's a lot more bass details taking over

Unfortunately, the little spike gets me. And I don’t think they stand up to amplification that well, at least on R6III. So it’s not awful like the previous hype of DMG, but I think super mix4 is better with a little EQ bass boost. Yeah I don’t think you get slam, which is so satisfying on Fiio ft1 closed backs.

I know this is probably not a fair comparison, but how does it compare to your Maestro SE?
@rnarexperience2 ай бұрын
Maestro SE is simply on another level technically, it's already a level above the maestro mini and it goes DEEP but not as impactful in its slam and attack however still a lot more compared to the stock tuning of the Duece but the Duece with the adapter hits harder, but loses a bit more on its clarity so regardless you're getting a lot more from your SE, but the Duece for its price still does very well
@gaspar199912 ай бұрын
How would they compare to other iems in the price range apart from the bass? Like vs the chopin, hype 4 or even cheaper sets like the sm4 or nova?
@rnarexperience2 ай бұрын
Unfortunately i dont have those sets to be able to comment, but if I'm bringing something a bit more expensive like the Davinci, Davinci sounds fuller on its stock tuning and has a bit more technical capabilities. Even the Kefine Delci has comparable levels of technical performance with the Duece but for slightly cheaper but the main highlight from the Duece is the fact you're getting all that bass with very little sacrifice from the other frequencies. Any other IEMs with this kinda tuning usually is lopsided on one end, or they try too hard to bring up the other frequencies to match that they just ruin the sound thats why i feel Duece takes all of them to school in that regard in terms of finding the right balance
@joefilter2923Ай бұрын
I think the deuce sounds muffled on some songs, and the trouble doesn’t stand up to amplification. The adapter moves out the trouble but then you basically have HBB. KHAN.

They are a separate purchase. Also, only the first 150 orders got the round metal case. Everyone else gets a small zipper case that's just big enough to hold 3 pairs of ear tips, but you'll never be able to squeeze you IEM and cable into it. So if you need a case, plan on buying that separate as well. The Deuce does sound amazing. I'm enjoying it.

I don’t get why people associate HBB with “bass monster”. His target is literally nowhere Basshead level. Great to see FatFreq using a 11mm DD for the low frequencies. Personally, I felt like there is a bit too much of upper mids and not enough mid bass. I’ll stick to my Maestro Mini for now. Great review.
@Nghtmare305892 ай бұрын
Where were you able to find information about the driver size?
@rnarexperience2 ай бұрын
I think compared to many other prominent audio reviewers out there, HBB has a little bit more bass emphasis to his preference compared to the rest. I mean a lot of his top choices have strong emphasis on the lower regions (as well as others for balance). On the stock tuning it is a little flatter in delivery but with the bass boost adapter then the duece unveils its true face. Thanks for watching

You describe a weakness of FF imo. I had the Maestro Mini and traded up to the Scarlet Mini. I’m waiting for them to counter what you said. Give us more mid bass (lose the tuck sometimes!) less pinna gain (upper mid emphasis) and refined upper extension. I’m holding off too. I think many would prefer the Doscincos for $30 more with 5 drivers and no weaknesses.

great IEM i like it so much i'm actually tempted to buy a second pair just to have a backup but it's unfortunate that not only the price was increased like 3 or 4 times but on top of this fatfreq used FAKE Advertisement for 25db Bass Shelf it's Only 18db Not 25db and only by using the impedance adapter you get additional 7db Bass Boost so they LIED and actually Linsoul admitted it when i asked and even changed the description on their site but if you buy it after the 31st this month i don't think you will be getting the impedance adapter anymore in the package or if you are like me and got the 3.5mm but you use 4.4mm well you are screwed they don't sell the impedance adapter separately and they have an impedance adapter sold Only for backers which you can buy from Aliexpress for Half the Price then what fatfreq is selling it on their site but it's different then the one from the pre order package
@rnarexperienceАй бұрын
The price increased? On their official website? Do you have the link for the impedance adapter from aliexpress. It'll be silly for Fatfreq not to sell the bass boost adapter though as that's one of the accompanying "feature" with the Duece. Maybe it's something to discuss with Fatfreq to see if they are planning to sell that sometime down the line.

These IEMs sounds amazing buddy and I don't think you even need the impedance adapter. But I'm not sugarcoating it, the customer experience with FatFreq is super annoying. Aside from waiting for too long even when I ordered express delivery, I didn't receive my preorder bonus, the Cococart sent me email that my package was delivered even when it's not making me anxious, and now that I received my package I am shocked they sent me the wrong impedance adapter. Imagine, I bought 2 cables and sent them a tip and communicated to them about my order and yet they still manage to f*ck this up. I am still waiting for their response, so far nothing. With all their talent, they are still not ready for mainstream success. FatFreq is the epitome of overpromising and underdelivering.
