Boss BD-2 Blues Driver - TT-303

Out of all the videos I've seen here, I think the BD-2 sounds the absolute best on the synth. It gives it more of a bass sound whereas the SD-1 seems to make things a bit more tinny or treble sounding. The BD-2 is great at working with the low end. Thanks!!

After watchings tons of KZbin-Videos i came for myself to the conclusion that the BD-2 is really the best for a Synth.I was impressed by the Standard Boss Super Overdrive but after hearing it on different Tracks it seemts that its kinda thinning the Sound out and the Bluesdriver is just keeping the Sound.BTW big thanks for your Videos.They helped me alot by decisions i had to make ;)

The reason is simple: the Blues Driver pedal is supposed to be a very smooth, "clean" overdrive, inducing that squelch we all love but without taking a lot of dynamics out, unlike most "extreme" distortion pedals out there. imo it isn't that common within 303 circles because the name itself scare people away ("dude, BLUES driver? I play synths, not blues ffs")

Thanks for all the uploads, watched a lot of your video's, and I just ordered this one to use with my xoxbox. I really like the fact that it distorts but still keeps the sound quite clean and euhm 'alive' (sorry i don't know all the lingo, I'm just a DJ who can't read notes, but love to experiment).

@Mske the Wazacraft has a variation on the circuit controlled by a 2 position switch. There's the 'standard' BD-2 setting which is a normal BD-2, and a 'custom' circuit which has a beefier low end; I checked the manual, "a custom tone that adds sustain and body."

Thanks for all this TEST with different distortion pedals. That's two times i take a TT303 and always some problem with knob. It's so cheap the object, i mean sound good but not reliable and secure for a Live... I probably go with Acidlab Bassline 3 or Avalon Bass Synth ... Do you try this one ?

Messiah not shure but probably the same in standard mode and more richness sustain (according to boss webbpage) in custom mode. And more expensive..

Hey, I have a question. Been thinking about getting a distortion for my x0xb0x and am interested in the Boss Blues Driver. Did you notice whether the bass was good or no? I ask since some pedals get rid some of bass which then in turn emphasizes more higher sounds which I dont always need.

Trying out a few pedals here - been through the Boss DS1 (noisy!), Blues Driver (yep, sweet), currently on an EHX opamp big muff - I split the signal from a xoxbox in two and blended the distorted signal back in with the clean signal using a Boss line selector, sounds good. Waiting now on a delay pedal to put in the chain. Cheers for these videos btw, very helpful! :)

Btw man I have this bluesdriver now and my TT-303, but do you also have a lot of mechical jitter, digital noise coming into your sound when bluesdriver is connected? There is a lot in mine and I wonder if you also have it but it disappears in the actual recording? Thanks for showing your videos it helped with my purchase totally.

I think it was same with battery actually, but it is not something that ends up on the recording? You just have to live with it to have it during your recording. Do you also have it with yours then?

MessiahGaming1080p i think you can hear it in this video when gain is high. it will end up in your recording, try other cables, maybe you could EQ it. some pedals are noisy, dark matter was also kinda noisy.

Ok thanks, then it was not just something wrong with the TT-303, kinda strange they don't shield them better for that stuff, we are talking music gear that should be built to handle electronic interference. But glad you told me now I know.

Is it possible to listen through the distortion pedal and the TT-303 while using your headphones? I own both pieces of equipment but I simply have no idea how to get the distortion pedal to actually work on it. I'm a big noob when it comes to cables and outputs etc. There, I said it. you need a mixingtable or soundcard, , then connect all gear and listen thru it.

Check what is in your pricerange at some musicstore, then read reviews and forum about it before buy, check compability with OS and DAW. I have a Motu 828 mk3 hybrid and happy with it, not cheap but not the most expensive one either. :)
